Is anybody else addicted to high end dinner dates?

I went to STK in Atlanta. Place was cool. It wasn’t white table cloth though.

Bill was nearly $300.

Service was ehh but the food was fire. Had a cut called ribeye spinalis.

Got offered a sous chef job there years ago, it is not white table cloth at all and very corporate

I've been to one a few times. Eh... Not my thing. The food is never worth the cost. I get it's more about that experience for a lot of people though and I'm not hating though. Maybe I haven't gone to the right places.

I know a lot of dudes think they're a waste of money but I think they're a good way to eat good and weed out bad chicks. First off you're eating at a great restaurant so it's not a waste of money in my eyes, and I think men should have a good understanding of the best restaurants in their city - from the high end places to the hole in the wall spots to the cheap hidden gems. The second part is weeding out what type of woman you're dealing with. A lot of women have no real taste when it comes to a lot of shyt. They assume expensive = good, for everything. Which is why a lot of women love those half assed expensive steakhouses that popped up post-Covid; you know, the ones that charge extra to put "gold flakes" on a steak. Or they like places like Mastro's, ie a chain steakhouse. If you know your shyt I guarantee you can surprise her with a place she's never been to, be it a steakhouse or Italian or whatever else.

Then you watch what she orders and how she eats. If she's ordering well done steaks or putting extra salt on whatever she ordered....nope. If she just seems out of place despite wanting to go to an expensive restaurant - attire, behavior, conversation, etc - nope. If she's complaining about food you know to be good? Nope. A lot of people (men and women) in America are just conditioned to think high sodium makes something good. Then they go to a quality Italian restaurant, eat pasta that isn't drowned in sodium and complain or try to add salt. Hell no.

People can call me petty but if you demand "high end" restaurants but can't operate in one without looking like a clown, there won't be a second date.

Here's some spots, made a list of the Michelin starred placed I'd been to in the last 10 years or so, since 2014, is when I really got into it, tasting menu with 20 courses, omakase sushi, all a lot of fun. as far as actually going on dates to these spots? That can be a headache, gets very expensive, like $1500, and unless you have a serious girlfriend, hard to get someone to commit to the reservation, and show up. a lot are pre paid. for dates, stick to the places just below Michelin lol unless they are serious into food. also, some you have to go right when they open, or with 3 years or they fall off.
