It ain't the cube that gets you. Its corporate life. Its going to company meetings with a bunch of middle aged white folks you have nothing in common with while everyone gets excited about the 'direction of the company' a month after 15 people got laid off :scust:. Its dressing like a sucker every day and having to smile and nod at folks so you don't make them uncomfortable . Its ALWAYS having to hit higher and higher numbers every quarter :aicmon:. I've been wanting to get out of the corporate world to work in education but the system is rigged. First I'd have to go back to school for 2 years to get the licence I'd need all to start a career in which I'm guaranteed to make $30K less than I make right now :mjcry:.

This gets me as well. Quarterly sales targets sure seem to limit long term objectives from where I' m sitting. And also, I work for a private company. What they fukk are we even doing it for? We aren't reporting to any shareholders. :heh:

Man I had a cubicle for 8 years and the last 2 ive had an office and man i prefer the cubicle by a long shot. This office shyt gets boring and the only real benefit is that i can look at porn without worrying about someone sneaking up on me. When i had a cubicle i could eavesdrop on all kids of crazy conversations and if someone was talking about something good i could pop up and join in. All you need is one of those screen covers that doesn't allow everyone to see your shyt and you good to go in a cube.

If you're going to do the 9 to 5 thing try and find a firm where you can distinguish yourself and make yourself indispensable. Part of the soul crushing nature of these jobs is knowing that you're not needed and you can be easily replaced. That insecurity wears on your mind after a while. Throw chronic white supremacy in the mix and you're looking at a nearly unbearable toxic environment.

Yeah, we had those at my last job. It wasn't so bad depending on who you sit next to. My desk was on the end, and my little person homegirl sat on the other end, but the broad that sat between us was WOAT.... No privacy whatsoever. Plus it didn't make sense because we all reported to different sponsors and would be discussing very sensitive drug information over the phone, that could easily be heard by someone on the end of another phone in the "area"... Hustling backwards. The job I'm at now has nice big cubicles with plenty privacy, plus I telecommute twice a week. Not mad at the cubicle life, it's worse ways to be.
