Eh, it’ll be very rough. You can even move to shytty Bridgeport, CT, take an hour train ride and you’ll still at $2000 a month for a one bedroom. That’s $24K a year in rent alone. After taxes you’ll only have $21K for everything else.

I guess it’s doable, but it’ll be very rough. I had a friend live with 2 other people in Brooklyn 10 years ago and she was just making $55K. Her parents had to pay her rent. :francis:
Suggest Bridgeport, Ct brahs

*waits for swarm of a NYC posters to stampede in here talking about how you need a second job and how that's acceptable because only hustlers make it out the 200 sq ft apartments*

No. You will need roommates. I make north of 90K and I stress out about finding an affordable place that isn't the size of a closet that will allow me to save money while paying rent. I don't see myself living here in the next couple of years.
My salary is close to yours and im looking to relocate to NYC. Is it possible to find nice 1 bedroom apartment is Harlem or Brooklyn. Will I struggle on a $90k salary?

No. You can get a new apartment in BK or Queens. I don’t know about Harlem

Harlem not at all (but if you have fam or friends in queens/long island I suggest you keep your car out there).

Brooklyn anywhere east of Bedford Avenue shouldn't be a problem at 90k.

Most of my college friends are im Manhattan, Some lower east-side, some upper west-side. So im trying to be close to them. Im paying $1400 for rent now living in Florida and my income will be about $20k more a year in NY. I wont be bringing a car up but I may bring my motorcycle up, but I know parking is a bytch and nypd loves to tow motorcycle and scooters as a easy cash grab.
