Trump had a better chance at doing what you suggested if he was able to prevent normal voting from taking place Nov 3rd. The country voted, therefore electors of the EC will chose the next duly elected president. If those electors are somehow unable to do so. The House of Representatives per the constitution, chooses the President in place of the electors.
The only way Trump doesn't lose the WH at noon EST on 01/20/2021, is if this country is under physical attack or no longer exists as in a radioactive parking lot.

They give him powers such as changing the mandate of the military and using them domestically, a license to kill captured enemy combatants, or something more relevant to the times - putting the internet in the US under government control. He would have to go full dictator and take control of all media blocking the announcement of certification and put the military in the streets to quell any type of public uprising. Even the people around him wouldn't go that far.

Basically if Iran retaliates they have a lot to lose. The nuclear deal will be null and void. Sanctions come back. They have made gains in getting the arms embargo lifted and they see sanction relief coming after Trump so they aren’t fukk this up. Trump and Israel are doing whatever it takes to either start a war to hand Biden a mess, or sour things with Iran that they refuse to come back on the negotiation table. Iran won’t retaliate unless they outright get its nuclear sites bombed by the US/Israel.
That assassination of their nuclear scientist was clearly to throw a wrench in future talks on that nuclear deal that Biden will ask them to rejoin... That was a desperation play from Isreal..
