The difference is that they are dead serious and that is 'normal' while, over here, it is stated jokingly/sarcastically and it is looked at as 'deviant'/illegal/absolutely wrong.

ah, got it, it's just jokes when we do it.

Indian men: it’s women’s fault that men rape them. It’s not the men’s fault that they can’t control themselves.

:scust:

America may not be the best place on earth. But some places are clearly worse.

Who is 'we'?

'We' don't accept rape as culturally normal.

It is an aberration and 'bytch-made' behavior unanimously denounced EXCEPT by deviants.

In the post you quoted, I shared a link that contextualizes who the "we" is.

I don't know anyone who thinks rape is 'normal' so that 'we' makes no sense.

That's why it gets made fun of here.

Many people "here" also have very narrow definitions of what rape is to begin with.

It's kinda where the "she knew why he invited her over" or "why would she be drinking around a bunch of men" talking points come from.

another popular variant is: "she probably wanted it and later regretted it so now it's 'rape'". I mean the list goes on and on.

Myself and my own.

That's a weird study based on the design already. How did they define rape bias? They claim race plays into it but I don't see how well or accurately it is quantified. The study showed an interesting racial bias (black women more likely to be believed) but such seems like it would go against the general idea of a racist society unless the respondents were probably black or non-racist, so that in itself makes me wonder if there is something up with the study or something is off about society or maybe we've been wrong about race and its relation to such things.

That study seems confusing and I'm not willing to pay $40 to read it.

Many people "here" also have very narrow definitions of what rape is to begin with.
Those peoples' definitions are not indicative of any overarching 'rape culture' inherent in American society as you're trying to make it out to be. There are deviants, here, who sound like the men in OP, but they are roundly criticized, clowned, and/or, imprisoned.
