What videos, the point I'm making is that this thread is basically the famous gif of two Spidermans pointing at each other because the US also has a rape culture. We use the same terrible victim blaming arguments.

But since you're interested in a video:

you posted a 20+ year old video by a comedian as if we haven't experienced a culture shift to denouncing predatory sexual behavior since. yes the U.S does have a rape culture problem but certainly not to the extent of those view espoused in the video. many predators here aren't as bold to admit and justify their beliefs as we just heard, we also tend to automatically label them as mentally ill.

Myself and my own.

And to add that Chapelle in the video stated that the problematic beliefs were in fact problematic. He was making a joke out of how a guy would reason something, albeit, even if that reasoning is flawed. That flaw is core of the joke in itself.

I'm sure for every quote in the video if the OP, you'll find a republican (and a coli poster) who said it too :yeshrug:

This denouncing of predatory sexual behavior predates the Dave Chappelle video. The term "Rape Culture" was coined by American feminists in the 1970s. This idea that men in the states don't openly espouse similar rhetoric is flat out false, in fact, you don't have to look any further than the Coli to see contemporary examples of it.

One of the best examples is the discourse around the #meToo movement where men are boldly rejecting the idea that Tarana Burke was actually raped because they find her to be unattractive, comparing her to KRS 1, some even called her KRS 2.

But we can pretend that this is something we've left behind after this so-called "culture shift"

I thought the title of this thread read “a look into India’s rape car” and it made total sense to me. Like an Indian non-consensual version of Bang Bus and I wasn’t surprised…
