They did the best that they could but they know the tendency to blame progressives for everything

Also, progressives are likely to get blamed even more now. They just voted for the BIF without any of the assurances they demanded for months.

All the media is going to see and all liberals are going to see is that they held up the infrastructure bill for months for absolutely no reason. They were the reason it didn't pass months ago when Biden desperately needed the win and when it probably would have helped in Virginia and New Jersey.

And honestly, they'd be right. What was even the point of any of this? The Senate isn't anywhere close to passing BBB, they didn't get anywhere near their topline number, several of their supposed priorities were stripped out of the bill, and there is still no promise that Manchin or Sinema will vote for even the watered down version. They just wasted everybody's time and look like chaos agents.

Progressives don’t have leverage. They don’t have enough real power. Having a significant amount of progressives in congress 15 years ago was a joke. We will have to wait 30 years for a lot of people to die and a much younger generation to have a shot at this. Sorry brehs … hope we live another 30 years.

Bro, you were just comparing Biden to Trump. You even said infrastructure week would be eternal. This is a big deal. Let's act like it.

:wow: we gonna need some deep dives on this. Was it worth it? What was the alternative? Are we allowed to be happy? Questions that need answers.

:what:.

Yeah, in reference to Pelosi constantly announcing and then pushing back the vote.

But Manchin and Sinema are still gonna run out the clock on BBB so I guess it'll be "'Human' Infrastructure Week." :troll:

I disagree. They did the best that they could but they know the tendency to blame progressives for everything and now Biden will owe them one.

Still though and today is now!

Maybe they will and maybe they won't. I think they're going to be forced to.

Companies are people!

Big win for Biden, less so Democrats at large. Democrats need to build strength in brand so this is good for them via Biden.

Biden needs to make Democrats feel like winners. Especially Progressives. Progressives need to feel like they're winners and that they have skin in the game.

The progressives' logic behind finally voting for the BIF was that Biden assured them he could find a way to get Manchin and Sinema on board.

I'm sure the case could be made that, had the House passed the BIF back in September, it would have taken the heat off Biden for Afghanistan, the border, and the Delta surge because it would have had more momentum at that point. Then even if it still took this long to get BBB passed, Biden would have had more leverage since his approval rating wouldn't be as underwater as it is now. Then with the Dow surge, the better than expected October jobs report, and Covid cases going down/vaccinations going up, he would have been in a better place to at least get the $1.75T framework passed in the Senate.

Yeah.... if they were gonna cave they should have just done it months ago. Dragging it out just to cave in the end was pointless.

that shyt appeals to no one and just pisses the people who were for/against off
