Labeling him as merely corrupt implies he doesn't believe what he's saying and that's also problematic. In part because it ignores the large portion of society that believes the government helping out its citizens is a handout.Joe Manchin not being a good person isn't a surprise. Him being a republican isn't a surprise to anyone. Him being corrupt is documented based on the recordings obtained by Lee Fang and the shift in Republican donors to him. Him using those tropes is not out of the norm for him - deciding to sabotage an entire presidency is out of the norm. And we have documented evidence of why he did it. For whatever reason you want to side step it.
As far as the Lee fang article you're purposefully misrepresenting it a bit. In that article Manchin is the one encouraging lobbyist to push the GOP to support his bipartisanship missions as a way to head off the progressive agenda. I get why that upsets you, but he's been pretty consistent and open on his goal of stopping the "far left agenda."
