Joe Manchin not being a good person isn't a surprise. Him being a republican isn't a surprise to anyone. Him being corrupt is documented based on the recordings obtained by Lee Fang and the shift in Republican donors to him. Him using those tropes is not out of the norm for him - deciding to sabotage an entire presidency is out of the norm. And we have documented evidence of why he did it. For whatever reason you want to side step it.
Labeling him as merely corrupt implies he doesn't believe what he's saying and that's also problematic. In part because it ignores the large portion of society that believes the government helping out its citizens is a handout.

As far as the Lee fang article you're purposefully misrepresenting it a bit. In that article Manchin is the one encouraging lobbyist to push the GOP to support his bipartisanship missions as a way to head off the progressive agenda. I get why that upsets you, but he's been pretty consistent and open on his goal of stopping the "far left agenda."

I didn’t misrepresent anything and I’m not doing this back and forth anymore. You want to play a semantics game to pass time or to be “right” or whatever your angle is - have it. Most politicians are a$$holes and anti-poor. They also succumb to party pressure. Maybe your issue is that you begin by thinking most politicians are genuinely good people so Manchin bothers you. I don’t live that illusion of thinking most people get into politics for the right reasons.

You’re almost there. What did Manchin propose the lobbyist group offer to convince the GOP senators?

:duck:.

He's lying, and in the slimmest chance he isn't, he already knows Sinema isn't going for that anyway.

Media just needs to stop platforming this dude.
tax cuts not because he really believes in it, but because he was mad he was left out of negotiations in 2017.

The "reality" that dems would blow the filibuster over Jan 6. Jobs because he knows they're into that?

And guess what, Republicans didn't play ball and the filibuster is still there.

Merely disagreeing with your own ideologies doesn't make every action corrupt.:mjlol:

If the Democrats were smart, they'd be banging Manchin over the head with rising gas price issue seeing as electric vehicles and superchargers were part of the BBB plan he keeps blocking.
