I think it’s time we stopped talking about Dems like they are a monolith. There are 50 senators from very different states with very different constituents.

Manchin and Sinema and a few others are probably making the bet that their constituents won’t reward them for passing progressive policies and in the case of Manchin, he’s probably right. They may as well side with their sugar daddies who will reward them.

Politicians are just the conduits of right wing voter’s scarcity mentality and racial resentment politics.

Think of the burden placed on Dem politicians to expand Medicaid and Medicare to red states in this bill and poor white people and old white people will still vote for Mitch McConnel and Rand Paul types.
