You're moving the goalposts.

No, that's what 'moderates' are doing every time they come up with a new excuse to delay voting on BBB. :mjlol:

That's what 'progressives' did when they went from, "These bills must pass the Senate first! :birdman:" to, "Well, we can pass it in the House first and let the Senate inevitably ravage it.:ld:" to, "Well, Pelosi and the moderates wrote IOU on a Burger King napkin, so maybe BBB will get a vote some day. :manny:"

He cut it because he didn't have enough votes in his own caucus.

True, and the correlation between approval and a waning agenda still stands. I just hope everyone recognizes that his approval dropped with the concessions forced by right-leaning Dems, because there's gonna be a push to blame progressives for midterm seat-losses by those same right-leaning clowns as they blame inflation and social issues in the form of "we've gone too far left."

sidenote: same right-leaners fought to uphold the filibuster and staved off voting-rights agendas that may have helped with this unfolding Gerrymandering picture and the voter suppression that seems inevitable.

They're absolutely to blame. This should have been handled quickly and touted as an example of effective governance and the ability to act.

Instead, we're here.

We've moved a long way from the original post. But you're allowed to vent. :hubie:

Democrats bout to lose another generation of voters. No way this scam works again. 3/4th THAT'S EGREGIOUS :mindblown:
Doubt it. People with children won't sit back and allow Republicans to take away these programs they enjoy and the conversation with shift to either expanding them or extending them.

It's the American way.

There's two ways to look at this and I'm not mad at either take:
1. Democratic leadership allowed the progressives to fight and offered some, albeit pretty tepid, back-up in trying to push for the progressive strategies. But they didn't commit more strongly to it because they were aware that an impasse could happen. So they let the progressive wing fight for as long as possible before finally caving.

2. Democratic Leadership let the progressives fight for the agenda because they needed a fall-guy.

I think it's a mix...for some in big positions it's 1 and for others it's 2. Now we need to appeal and push to make sure that blame for any fallout beyond this goes to the right people and positions. Manchin, Sinema, and the cowards that supported them behind closed doors (Bob Menendez for example is from Jersey so I take issue with him in particular) need to be the ones that shoulder the blame for any losses that come up. Biden had a stated agenda and the progressives only ever fought to support that agenda; and it seems like MOST of the democratic party was supportive. Losing votes after not passing the agenda needs to land on Manchin, Sinema, etc's feet and it needs to be pushed aggressively so they can try to reposition it as "the agenda was the problem" when it didn't even pass.

Basically more stuff that end up in perpetual battle but never gets solved. Republicans will cut it every year and democrats will put a tiny bit of the original stuff cut and say they did something. It's clear as day we won't ever get anything good until there's a severe economic crash. But the poor and even worse the non white poors will be completely crushed when it happens.

Yea, that shytty discourse with fake boogie men.

Dems shouldn't entertain it, but it's kind of hard to when the voters are as weak as their reps.

Just to appear fair to people who don't respect you. :scust:

As it's been discussed many times, his silence for advancing his agenda is amateur hour like shyt. He didn't fight for his own proposals and people see him as a clown. A lot of us saw this happening when he ran for president, but to see it happen in real-time is still incredible.

THats on top of voting rights and criminal justice reform being dead.

"I can get things done." :mjlol:

The Democratic establishment screwing over Bernie in 2016 and 2020 will be looked at as one of the greatest political blunders of all time. It will be looked upon as one the great segways that lead to America embracing fascism.
I wouldn't even go that far to say support Bernie, and I would go as far back as 2009. That was the moment the Democrats had the chance to reshape themselves, especially since people were PISSED at Wall Street. The Democrats did the opposite and catered their policies to them. Those people are still in charge of the party and still believe they were right.
