I mean, are we hustling or are we grown up?
everytime I hear you, you changing ya tone up
when the new generation think about Jordan
all they remember is when Iverson crossed him (Talk 2 Em!)
take off the blazer, lossing up the tie
nikka fell in love and superman died
better learn to cover ya ears when the toys pop
I hate ya last single (pause) Boys Roc
can we hear some new nikkas with promise?
the new generation won't forget you we promise
we'll always pay homage
but let's get one thing understood son
every Encore ain't a good one! (Talk 2 Em!)

Kiss is incredible but Budden had tracks like these that I played countless times, his bars were therapy for me during some dark/intense work days (along with Blu and Nas and a few others)

Joe Budden is and was overrated as fukk in his era, he was NEVER considered miles above a Fab or a Banks or even a rapper closer to his weight class like Ransom, so wtf he got for Jada? He is a great writer but he really in his heart of hearts feels like he WASNT the weak link in all them Slaughterhouse albums and that he was more important to MC culture than Method Man :what:
When did Jada make this massive leap?

He's been widely considered in that Fab and Banks tier of lyricists forever.. I prefer Kiss to those two but that's who he's been compared to since the beginning of time..

Is this a post verzuz thing?

Maybe I need a definition of lyricism..

thas a matter of opinion because WHY by jadakiss imo is deeper than any of those AND its a known classic

also ive heard jadakiss praised for every facet of his rapping in real time

i have never heard anyone say anything about joe i ever read online in real life

Ngga Joe bodied Jay-Z tf is a 50 Cent. What you talkin bout :childplease:

that narrative is very its 2003

joe copied jays flow and topic, aside from sayin a buncha nonsense.

also joe said it wasnt a jayz diss on the record cuz he was shook, auto L

they chose jayz pump it up for nba2k years ago so jayz wins in all categories

Kiss is incredible but Budden had tracks like these that I played countless times, his bars were therapy for me during some dark/intense work days (along with Blu and Nas and a few others)

i think nas and jadakiss are much more alike

then nas and joe or nas and blu

i consider blue and joe alike though

the problem here is people standing on a pedestal and stating joe is better than jadakiss when thats an opinion shared by the internet only

kiss is felt offline, online, all lines

Why is his 1. I’ll give you that even tho it REALLY ain’t the same

Lemme guess, he’s a ‘internet rapper’. That’s what they used to call him —-15 years ago. :gucci: You sound utterly ridiculous saying it now in 2023.

This is where you lose all credibility. I’ve said this in one of the many Nas-Jay debates. We are GROWN now. We ain’t on ‘sides’ like if one is great the other gotta be trash. Thinking Jada is better is a fine opinion but ‘he said a bunch of nonsense’ and bringing up 2k? Your mic is off you can’t talk rap to me.

Again, outdated comment. Especially when Jada’s resurgence happened during a pandemic when we were all “online” :beli:

Buddens disco is very underrated. But you've got to be in the mood for the muzik.

6 minute plus tracks ain't the format, neither are his topics mainstream. On the flip to Kiss (who I'd be willing to bet has provided the soundtrack for at least one person getting killed) Budden has tracks that I'm certain have stopped multiples from offing themselves when in the depth of depression because they can relate to what he's spitting. Lyrics can be poison or medicine...

Considering the rap game is 98.6% fronting seeing someone be honest about their shortcomings whilst speaking on the everyday struggle was refreshing even though a lot of times I heard my friend bump him I knew it would one of those days again...

Interesting thread though as they are like two sides of the same coin as both never got their acclaim, both have their own lane and both have their own rabid fans who'll Stan them till the end. Kiss got his resurgence with Versus and that made the casuals listen to what he's been spitting and we've known since back when. Joe, on the other hand, hasn't had that yet as people forget about the first act of his performance and loads of heads hate him for the way he is without even listening to the music.

Joey and ain't even CLOSE!!!

this right shows how much Joe is hated online and the biased to go against him.

Real spit, Joe Budden has the ability to relate and share his pain with you, something that KISS was ALWAYS CRITICIZED THROUGHOUT HIS CAREER!! Him and pac are the only ones to actually have you feel and connect with their bars. I know it's really popular to hate on and clown on Joe, but brehs, lets be real, for once, lets take away the bias and look back at what these two brought. I love kiss to death but nah, Joe got a lot of rappers beat.
