It's not just about Arabs being your friends it's about you not knowing what that fukk an Arab actually is. Arab is supposed to be people from the Arabian peninsula but when refrencing slavery and shyt like that you are actually referencing people who are or were black. Some of those same "arabs" who enslaved people actually became slaves in the new world themselves. shyt is not cut and dry. You really think they got bumrushed by the arab people you think of today and they were just selling people off the west coast of Africa? That's not how it worked.
Yet you act as if that's how it went down. Arabs of today have different attitudes than those when Islam first started... but them uniting under Islam with other Africans is what contributed to the rounding up of non united Africans... Africa isn't a country and you know this... dudes united by language, ideology, and religion vs scattered groups who speak diff languages... how did you think it would end?
I have half my family that were also enslaved I don't think the arabs of today are exactly my friends but I don't care. How exactly do they fit in the world of problems that black people have today? How exactly do they perpetuate institutional racism in America today?

As someone who is neither black or Arab, but is Muslim (which this story relates to) and has a lot of family in France, this story is stupid.
Firstly, the internet showing a couple of stories doesn't prove shyt. People are stupid, people act stupid on the internet, nothing new.
Blacks and Arabs have almost the exact same plight in France. Both are heavily discriminated against. However, they stick together. This is the same in countries like Belgium, Holland, Germany etc. as well where there are large communities of people from African countries like Morocco, Algeria, Egpyt (ie. countires that have are a combination of blacks and arabs). These two groups interconnect with each other a lot, especially considering that they DOMINATE the poverty stricken areas. They stick together and most groups have a lot of Blacks and Arabs.
I'm not gonna get heavy in the religion talk of it. I see so many of y'all talk about how Muslims treat slaves, which is crap. We go by what the prophet Muhammad alayhi as-salam showed and says, not what some Muslims have done since. The religion is perfect, the people are not. Anyway, a black mans voice is behind the Azan (Bilal Ibn Rabah) in Islam, something we hear 5 times a day before we pray. A slave that the prophet (pbuh) freed.
And whilst this is a Hip hop forum, I love this song and video. Blacks and Arabs have a very close relationship in a lot of those European countries.

I've already established that I don't care how or why, it happened, and the same way I treat cacs is the same way I treat arabs, I don't like being a hypocrite.
Arabs are very traditional, they most definitely have the same or at least similar attitudes from back then in regards to women, gender roles and beliefs the perception of blacks is no different .
Of course they don't perpetuate institutional racism in America they have little to no power, however blacks are still treated like shyt in the arab world. I care for all blacks not just Western blacks.
Treat blacks like shyt in Asia = I will go in on them
Treat blacks like shyt in Peru = I will go in on them
Whites and Arabs just happened to enslave my people so that's why I will go in on them harder than other people.

In France, it is Whites vs Blacks/Arabs. The demographics and economic situation there plays out in a completely different manner.
If you are interested in something do the proper research. Some of you might be bored. Read on the history of the French national football team in the last 10 years then and the controversy behind that in terms of race, groups and support from mainstream France. The French NT for example played against Algeria in France and there was more support for Algeria and the French anthem was booed. Read on the fighting amongst the squad at the last World Cup (it relates to race, class and status).
To give you an example, at the last major tournament, this was the French NT squad.
