Gabe Vincent is starting for Miami and I’m not entirely convinced he’s better than Pritchard. Max Strus was cut from a less talented Celtics squad. They’re giving minutes to the corpses of Kevin Love & Cody Zeller. Duncan Robinson is the same archetype of a player as Sam Hauser and Hauser hasn’t cracked the rotation in weeks.

Butler & Bam can dominate with that supporting cast but Tatum & Brown can’t with what they have? Nah. It’s the coaching and their leadership

Well it's time to put respect on this Heat roster
They were a #1 seed last year, and the best shooting team last year. And were a Top 3 defense last year. They beat the Sixers and went 7 games with us last year, and beat the Bucks and up 3-0 currently on the Celtics this year
The roster fits Jimmy perfectly with alot of shooters, playmakers, and a pick and roll partner and defender in Bam. All of that is because of Pat Riley instilling an identity, culture, and good management

This Celtics roster are a HORRIBLE fit for Tatum and Brown. Outside of White and Brogdon who are decent, they are surrounded by no legit defensive bigs. Timelord is good, but injury prone. Horford is decaying before our eyes and a complete turnstile on defense unless he's defending Embiid. The bench is filled with 1 dimensional shooters who can't play defense. They had a chance to get Jakob Poetl at the trade deadline, but settled for Mike Muscala, another 1 dimensional non-defensive big

And you mention the coach, who was the one who hired him? Brad Stevens. And who was the one who stupidly gave him an extension before he proved himself in the playoffs? Brad Stevens

The Celtics were an elite shooting team all season while also still being one of the top defenses even with their regression this season. They were literally the only team in the league that had a top 5 offense and defense.

Compare the Celtics 3-15 to Miami’s and it ain’t even fukking close. They have enough and you coddling the shyt out of Tatum & Brown to pretend like this is some trash roster that you can’t win with.

Difference between them and Butler is they don’t make their teammates better, if their shots aren’t falling they’re liabilities on the court, especially Brown. They aren’t leaders and they don’t play with poise under pressure.

They’ve got bad habits that we’ve been complaining about for years. The sloppy turnovers. Playing up/down to their competition. Settling for 3s and resorting to low percentage isos instead of playing within the flow of the offense. Taking their foot of the gas and going away from what works when they have a lead and blowing it. Constant complaining to the refs. Poor decision making in crunch time.

It’s happening under Mazzulla. It happened under Stevens. And as much as you want to rewrite history like last year was perfect, it happened under Ime too.

What happens when Mazzulla gets fired, a 4th head coach comes in and the same issues are there? It’s gonna be his fault too?

Nope not gonna let you do that. Regular season =/= Playoffs. And you know this. You have seen PLENTY of teams have great shooting in the regular season only to have horrible shooting in the playoffs when defenses key in on them. The only reason why they seem elite because they had an unprecedented first 25-30 games of the season where 5 players were shooting 40% from 3 or more and it helped the averages for the entire season. Are we forgetting the next 20-30 games were the shooting fell off a cliff?? Only pure shooters on this roster are Brogdon, Pritchard, and Hauser. The rest are streaky at best. Tatum, Brown, Horford, Grant, and White are all streaky shooters, Timelord and Smart are non shooters
I called this the first month of the season (check the beginning of this thread) that this is not sustainable, but nobody listened

Don't blame me because the idiot coach (Who was hired by Brad the GM) did not have a counter for his one trick pony offense that obviously would be gameplanned against in the playoffs

And me coddling Tatum and Brown? :dead: :dead: . I literally made a whole thread about if Celtics gave the keys to Tatum too early. I always criticize Brown's handles and if he would improve that, he would be an even better player than he is. I've also said a thousand times that Tatum and Brown are not playmakers and need to have playmakers on the team to help them

And you keep ignoring the fact. WHO HIRED MAZZULLA, WHO GAVE MAZZULLA AN EXTENSION BEFORE PROVING HIMSELF IN THE PLAYOFFS?
WHO IS NOW IN A HUGE ODD SITUATION BECAUSE HE GAVE AN IDIOT A CONTRACT EXTENSION AND NOW HAS TO LOOK FOR A 4TH COACH?

Somewhere tucked deep down inside of me is the belief that the Celtics could pull off a 0-3 comeback. I don't trust them, hate them at times, have been given no reason to believe in them, but for whatever reason could see them doing the impossible. More likely they fold and quit tonight though.

Spo is too good and the Celtics coaching staff is too inexperienced and stubborn to allow the Celtics to win 4 in a row. I can see them maybe winning today and game 5 at home, wouldn’t be surprised if we got blown out today either🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️

The point isn’t that regular season is equal to the playoffs. The point is that we know exactly what these players are capable of. How many “pure shooters” does Miami have? Love & Duncan Robinson? How many “pure shooters” does Denver have?

I’m not saying that hiring Mazzulla and giving him an extension weren’t bad decision. I’m saying changing coaches won’t mean shyt as long as Tatum & Brown continue doing the things that they do.

There’s a hard conversation to be had about their limitations and what role that plays in this team’s ability to get over the hump

Legler explains it really well here -

This isn't 1 for 1 comparison about Miami's pure shooters. Miami has a completely different offense than the Celtics, they don't rely on just jacking up 3 point shots over and over, so it's an irrelevant point... Even still the Heat have Duncan Robinson, Max Strus, and Kevin Love who are pure shooters, who are regular rotational player.... The only players that can succeed in that mindless 3 point jacking Mazzulla offense is if Steph Curry and Klay Thompson was on the Celtics

And coaching ABSOLUTELY means shyt if you want to be a championship team. To be so Laissez-faire on hiring a championship level coach is 100% the fault of Stevens

- Tim Duncan had Popovich
- Jordan had Phil Jackson
- Kobe and Shaq had Phil Jackson
- Lebron had Erik Spoelstra and Ty Lue
- Dirk Nowitzki had Rick Carlisle
- And even if they were not hall of fame level coaches, they had enough experience in high pressure situations plus experience as an Assistant coach

And I've already said time and time again Tatum and Brown are limited as playmakers and Celtics management needs to add playmakers on this team

I've never seen a bigger group of losers in 30 years of living than this core of players

If you still believe in them I legitimately fear for your wellbeing

Tatum got hurt the first play of the game and Jaylen is not who we thought he was. Some coli posters told us he was better than Brown.

Uncertain grounds

Tatum hurting his ankle doesn't excuse a 20 point blow out at home riddled with the IQ of a middle school rec basketball team. This core is finished. Get the stench of losing out of the locker room and blow it up

Extremely unlikable team

Derrick White & Time Lord only players I can say I’m happy with how they played these platoffs
