I'm a fan of good basketball. You don't even know me, son. Don't speak out of pocket. The greats will still be great but players like Beal who are killing it today will just be average back then as will some of others since everything about the rules today have been made to let perimeter players thrive. Why Doncic is toying with the league for example (30-10-10 lmao). He won't even have been able to do that in the mid-late 2000's and early 2010's. And why a guy like Nash who will just be a back up random white guy on a roster became a star, post hand check rule removal.

I'm not trying to shyt on todays era, I actually enjoy it but I can also recognize the defense being played, particularly over the last 7-8 years is a joke.

Also, I've bodied you throughout this thread like I always do and you're in your feeling now? :camby:Shut up next time if you don't know what you're talking about. I don't even go into threads on here if im not familiar with the subject matter.
U posted a wall of text I didn’t feel like breaking it down y’all enjoy that tho :manny:

80’s defenses would get destroyed by modern offenses. It’s just a different game today. The game advances every few years to adjust to league trends. The three point and ball screen explosion is a response to very specific things that were going on at the earlier part of the decade and rules changes decades in the making.

U downplaying the talent of modern players. Beal’s numbers are irrelevant he plays on a bad team. Beal isn’t good because of stats he’s good because of his step back, his advanced handle, his counters, his ability to play in P&R’s, his jumper, his frame and wingspan. The present Beal would be a top SG in any era.

Nash wasn’t good because they removed handcheck. He was a late bloomer like John Stockton, the guy he was compared to when drafted. He was trending upwards on the Mavs already All-NBA and All-Star. Nash footwork, passing, quickness, handle, jumper, finishing ability with either hand and off either foot, core strength was all elite.

I don’t care about Doncic 30/10/10 his numbers are a product of usage and pace. It’s just stats you watch him play you see his skill and that he got game.

U can’t complain about stat inflation when you stan an era where cats was averaging 37 a game and up to 14 dimes and players flirted with triple double averages.

I knew this was Barry without watching it

LeBron after his first few Miami years would end these guys in the post or going to the rim, before then he was like confused on how to use his build. And its weird that you can watch old LeBron games and they say that actively. IDK why it took him almost a decade to resolve 1 of the 2 holes in his game

They swept Kobe coming off 3 finals and a grueling Celtics series and in 2011 KD and RW were both 22 and James was 21. James played 25 mpg and scored 12ppg. You nikkas are dumb as fukk the Heat should’ve beat them in 5.
how come lebron never gets this excuse

at one point he was coming of 8 straight finals

I agree with all 3 statements, black mark on Brons legacy, but let's not act like since then he hasnt been more of clutch player, coming through in those 4th qtr moments. Or like he hasn't been a bully in the post. The guys offensive game has obviously improved since the loss in Dalllas. Why keep going back to this?
:jbhmm:
Because they’re haters. One series doesn’t define your career. Bron would feast in any era.

Lol at nikkas comparing the 2011 Mavericks 2-3 zone with multiple elite defenders to mid-80’s man defense with 5 cac line-ups

Who are these "elite" defenders the 2011 have? There's a reason why they played more zone :mjlol:

Chandler was the only above average defender they had. Stevenson was ok and marion was past his prime.

You dudes try 2 hard
Michael and Bernard King destroyed the Celtics in this era

Bradley Beal has things in his bag that players in the 80’s didn’t even do like that my nikka he has become an expert of snaking pick and rolls and has a step back that can cover up to 5 feet of space with, elite dribble combos and actual side to side shifty crossovers, head fakes

U show me 3 SG’s in the 80’s with handles on the level of a Beal, McCollum, Harden

Announcers then would literally be wow’d by a basic behind the back wrap around dribble

Beal is stronger and a better shooter than damn near every 2 in the 80’s

How the fukk would he just be a 17 point scorer in the 80’s :what:

I don’t know what’s so hard about acknowledging the advancement of the sport why the hell would the game go backwards

Because he wasn’t coming off 8 finals when he choked against Dallas :ohhh: plus lakers/Kobe simply got outplayed by Dallas....Heat lost cuz Bron was out of it mentally.

No one said the Mavs were trash but they shouldn’t have beat the Heat, and “the Mavs beat the lakers and OKC” isn’t a good excuse. D Wade was better than any teammate Kobe or KD had in 2011, plus KD was 22, OKC were barely getting their feet wet as a contender. The Heat had 3 stars in their primes, 1 star already being a champ and the other already had been to the Finals.

Them 8 straight finals appearance are some bullshyt. He got them joining superteams n creating his own rosters.

Lebron stans make up these imaginary narratives cause the goat talk is over. It’s been over.

Notice to them Jordan’s 6 rings is a team accomplishment but Lebrons 8 straight Trips to the finals Is something we should praise him for

AND HE HONESTLY DIDNT DEVELOP HIS GAME MUCH SINCE THEN
That's simply not true. Lebron developed his footwork, jumper post game but when he stresses out he reverts back to what he knows best

You nikkas can't really sit there and act like LeBron wouldn't be literally neck-and-neck, if not better than Jordan if you dropped them in at the same time:mjlol:.

The only thing that has been able to slow even a young LeBron down is a zone defense that is supported by multiple great defenders.

You drop him in the 80's and 90's where you couldn't play a zone and...:mjlol:.

I'm just gonna stop talking because Jordan stans don't deal in logic.

Edit: MULTIPLE nikkas already proved my point by posting the Dallas series. They ran a zone and neutralized him completely. What if they didn't run it? Well, Miami wins in 6.
