Your best source will be youtube with black people doing black hair. Not that matted shyt white people out here getting.



Only thing our hair needs is a nice coil and a good loc gel (avoid jamaican lime shyt) and you might have to retwist every few weeks or at do a quick palm roll yourself until they start to form.

I rocked a caesar for years but I always wanted to grown my hair. Moms wouldn't allow it I found out I have a disease called folliculitis decalvans (scarring alopecia) and my doctor suggested locs. Haven't had an outbreak in over 2 years since I started locs. Do it OP

They aren't hard work like people say either. I never understood that. All I did was put on a doo rag at night, wake up, and go about my day. Never had a problem in the work place, college, or anywhere else. I get compliments on my locs all the time

I would say no less than 3 inches to start.

Shorter they are the harder it will be to loc because your hair will uncoil/curl.

The 2nd pic is the way to go, minimum 3 inches or enough to wrap around your pinky once.
