I'm sorry bruh. I can't trust class-first marxists, even black ones. This is insane.

This thread could have easily been a post in the contarian Anti woke left thread that Nap already has in HL.

He created it here because he knows it would provoke a far Left vs left vs Center argument. He recycles that shyt every few months or so. He didn't post anything newsworthy, that's why I called it rabble rousing.

It was raised with the clear intention of causing a non productive argument.

That's the remit of TLR, no?
I get your point, but I think this topic is a little more specific than the catch all.

For the most part I don't see our prominent leftists making a full throated argument that slavery was capitalism over racism.

Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
You said chattel slavery didn't exist until there was money to be made?

By whom?

The people selling humans as property because they didn't value them as humans because they were black?

Or the people purchasing slaves?

Your position suggests that slaves were only used to increase productivity and thus increase profits, but we know that slaves were used for a variety of roles having nothing to do with money making nor production.

But more importantly, if this were merely about capitalism they wouldn't have limited their "resource pool" by exclusively operating in the sell and enslavement of blacks... Well unless you prescribe to the notion that the negro was better built for this.:russ:

It's just a dumbass argument. I'd slap anyone who said this shyt to me.

You don't have to remember what i said... we're in the same thread you can just quote it so that it's clear.

I said:

"The large transactional chattel slavery to the US didn't exist really until there was money to be made.

We went from having 0 shipments to the US in the mid-1600 to over 3000, then over 100k shipments when profit was to be made."

That's a fact. :yeshrug:

If we can agree on, at least my last sentence, we can move forward and I'll give you my thoughts on any other part of this

18 August 1518: in a significant escalation of the slave trade, Charles V grants his Flemish courtier Lorenzo de Gorrevod permission to import 4000 African slaves into New Spain. From this point onwards thousands of slaves are sent to the New World each year.
