Where does the universe go once infinity part 1 and 2 drops
I find it funny that people talk about Batman V Superman like it was supposed to be this guaranteed larger draw than basically a backdoor Avengers movie when Marvel has been building a cinematic universe for a while now. They're like 12 or so movies deep into this with 4 movies over a billion and DC pretty much started this one from scratch. People act like Man of Steel lit the world on fire at the box office. Batman V Superman ended up putting up better numbers than Man of Steel overall.
Let's not pretend like Marvel came out of the gate posting these billion dollar movies. It took some time.

No matter how you look at it film 2 of the MCU if you wanna skip the Hulk and use Iron Man 2 BvS outperformed either.Lets not pretend 3 things;
1 - That DC stans didnt for years come out boasting how this was gonna be a game changer and from the GATE said it was gonna eclipse the Avenger movies. Cats been in here talking and acting like you claim they wasnt.
2- That these aint so called AAA level comic book heroes and cats was at a time trying to shyt on the Marvel movies and call they characters C and D level heroes
3- That it didnt get out done this weekend by a movie called Louder Than Bombs, that only made $456 this weekend and cant hide behind the excuse of "bu bu bu bu but Batman vs Larry is old now and been out for months" when 10 Cloverfield Lane came out before BvLarry, still in theaters, and pulled in $15k this weekend

Seeing how bad of a movie it actually was the numbers it put up are impressive. When one of the actors in your movie basically shyts on it the fact that it came close to $900 million is acceptable.
Heath Ledgers death and performance elevated the Batman Begins series of movies past the billion mark but outside of that there was no indication this movie was gonna do numbers like it did. The people acting like it was were delusional.
Warner/DC is part of that delusional crowd then. lolNo matter how you look at it film 2 of the MCU if you wanna skip the Hulk and use Iron Man 2 BvS outperformed either.

They clearly were thinking they'd found a full cinematic universe in 2 movies by using a retcon to establish it.Warner/DC is part of that delusional crowd then. lol

Just cause you walk in the gym your first day and see some guy bench press 300 pounds doesn't mean you're gonna hop right under the bar and do it too.
Aint that the beautiful thing?
WE aint gotta worry about that.
Thats like 2020 and on.
But that time no telling how much of the Marvel EXTENDED Universe (MEU) has grown.
They may have debuted over 100 characters by then and no telling who may been that surprised character that really popped off and got that momentum.
Not to mention if deals work out and they get lost properties.
I mean there is Secret Wars, thats a big event.... there are many many MANY stories they can adapt on any screen
Yea maybe so far outside of the current avengers I'm only looking forward to BP solo movies. I don't care about dr strange, that marvel girl luke cage shazam

And Marvel gets the props for that. While DC was making Green Lantern and the Dark Knight Rises Marvel was getting it's weight up for this achievement. They're 12 movies in isn't magic it was hard work.

"Malibu, is the only independent publisher that Marvel bought up since the old days when Timely and Atlas comics merged to become Marvel. All Malibu titles that pertained to "Ultraverse" are now an imprint of Marvel. But waning popularity and rights issues with the creators of the characters prevents Marvel from really doing anything but mention the Ultraverse in the Marvel Handbooks."
