Got damn at some of these stories. That's why I'm glad I stuck with basketball. :whew: :win:

Only thing I walked away with is bad knees for life. :yeshrug:

its also the reason I gave up boxing early. shyt was cool until I got rocked then it was

It cracks me up that we need today's science to say "well if boxing can hurt your head and have you end up like Ali....football where you use your head....well....I don't know. I need science to spell it out for me!"

:smh:

Man please. These players didn't need science to spell it out for them. They knew all along.

I had a problem with the coaches not doing their job in seeing that is play can hurt his team.

Fair enough. I actually agree with that, but there was also a lot of talk on here about Shannahan should've pulled RGIII for health reasons or "you shouldn't let a kid make the decision to play" etc.

No one told these old man as you get older you lose mobility and memory????

It's life

It's true, but at the same time it's a bit different. That sport does terrible things to folks bodies. I healed from most of the stuff, but other things will never go away. I was guaranteed that I would need back surgery in my early 20's and I could delay it until I'm maybe 40 if I stayed in shape. That has nothing to do with age.

These players shouldn't be suing anyone for extra cash though. They got paid what was reasonable for the level of the NFL at that point in time the same as the players do now. I think the NFL should help with some of their health care bills and maybe counseling, but they should be given a wad of money.

Why was no one flipping out about RG3 playing the 2 weeks prior to Sunday?

He played TWO WEEKS against Philly AND Dallas before the Seahawks came to town and I barely heard 2 maybe 3 people say he should sit. No one complained about him playing hurt against the Cowboys.

RG3's injury is just a reason for people to talk like they know better when they have hindsight to go along with the argument. I didn't see any "RG3 was a slave and Shanny is the Slavemaster" threads when he came back against the Eagles. He was limping just as badly against the Cowboys, but they won. I don't get why people wait until the loss or until the injury happens to bring up the "He shouldn't have played" debate. If you thought he shouldn't have played against the Seahawks then you should've been screaming that when he came back against the Eagles not after he got hurt in the playoffs.

Like Reb my take at the time watching the game was RGIII was just no longer effective due to his injury. He completed like 2 passes in the second half, sailed a bunch of passes and missed open receivers. Didn't see the same thing against the Eagles (granted didn't watch the whole game)

Dog...you think that shyt wasn't self evident to these players when seeing the older players walk into their locker rooms and give barely legible rah rah speeches?

:heh:

these dudes were hearing Mark Gastineau speeches since the 70's....acting as if they didn't have a clue.

Zero chance my son or nephews go into football, despite the fact they all display the necessary aggression and their little frames are massive for their ages.

Besibol or basketball lil mans.

Futbol has the highest workforce worldwide out of all sports :manny:

And it's the best sport in the world too :smugdraper:

:smh: @ these wanna be moral compass dudes. I'd probably do the same thing some of these players doing. It's a societal thing, check that a human nature type thing to have your cake and eat it too so who am I to say I wouldn't. It's why the first man in the world had a bad bytch on his arm and a bunch of land but had the :youngsabo: face when they asked him not to touch some dusty ass apple. Next thing you know they dunking your bytchass head in some water :manny:
