Thats why I don't criticize Goddell or the competition commitee too much for the rule changes.

What else are they suppose to do if they getting sued?

Of course the ATL
They're saying that the NFL withheld information about the long term effects about concussions & other injuries and didn't provide enough information about the types of injuries players experienced during their playing days.

Y'all gotta realize that were in an era where were getting more information about the long term effects of football related than any of these players EVER had. I think the players have a good case against the NFL & I side with them 100%

Exactly. People keep saying "They knew the consequences going in" and shyt, but I don't think they knew the EXTENT of the potential consequences. Add in that the NFL apparently held back information and these are rightful lawsuits to me.

Dog...you think that shyt wasn't self evident to these players when seeing the older players walk into their locker rooms and give barely legible rah rah speeches?

:heh:

these dudes were hearing Mark Gastineau speeches since the 70's....acting as if they didn't have a clue.

How can the NFL had withheld information they did not know about yet? We are just now starting to learn the effects concussions can have on the brain through recent research. Back in the 70's, if you saw stars the culture was to walk it off. Everyone just assumed that it was a stinger and you'd recover just fine.

To be honest, I don't think the players will get very far with these lawsuits.

The first time I knocked myself out tackling someone I was 13 years old and no one noticed because they were busy celebrating the hit. At 13, I knew the sport was dangerous so from that point forward I 1. Stopped tackling with my fukking head 2. Every year weighed the pros and cons....After I got my degree I was done. At 22, I had constant headaches, my hands were shaking, a specialist told me I had the back of a 45 year old. I didn't blame anyone cause I knew at 13 the cost of it all.

Welcome to the new America. No one wants to take responsibility for their actions anymore

For real dog.

I'm sort of pissed that these older players feigning ignorance about what's happening to them.

I'm dealing with my own health issues now from the game, and I didn't sniff the NFL...but I knew what I was getting into. It's a fukking hurt sport. Why front like yall didn't know?

They didn't make the money like current Players so i can understand their point of view

came here to say this. with the advances we've made in understanding the brain, brain damage, concussions, etc, in the past 20 years coupled with advancements in protective gear and the shyt pay these dudes used to get, i don't blame them for trying to get in on this. there's also a line between them advocating for player safety and p*ssy rules basically banning you from touching a QB or WR

Check this out:

lets say there's this supermarket in your city with the best prices out there. You like going there because you get to buy a lot more food than would be possible if you went to them other supermarkets.

What happens if one day while buying shyt there you slip on a wet spot and break your hip. Doctor tell you will have problem walking again.

what would you do:

1) Be a good nicca, collect disability checks from gov :ld:

2) Get the grinch grin on your face and call up your lawyer :skip:

:mjpls:

This makes no sense :wtf: It is better you had said that the supermarket with the low prices has wet spots and there is possibility you could fall and injure yourself. It is you who decides to shop at the supermarket, knowing damn well there is chance you could end up in the hospital.

So now when you fall, your going to go blame the supermarket :wtf::wtf: When all along, because you wanted to get them low prices, you chose to shop some place you know was dangerous :beli:

The only difference between today and back in the day in terms of concussions is that its spelled out more. But they knew back in the day what they were getting into. As far as their long term care they're now facing, the NFL should do something about that short fall they didn't address way back when.
