I feel the same way. Since Trilla I'd have his albums on repeat. I used to bump DTR nonstop, everyday. Rich Off Cocaine was my shyt. The whole tropical theme of that album was piff. Then came TD. Loved that album. Listened to it everyday at work...

This new shyt though? It's horrible. Then again I've kind of outgrown hiphop so maybe that's why. I'll try listening to it again to see if I like it but as of now it's not a good album to me. It has some hotter spots on it though. I'll say this. None of the songs stand out to me on this record. On DTR, Trilla and TD I could remember the names of every song and if you asked me to sing a hook or rap a few bars from EVERY track, I could. With this record I don't even know the names of all the songs. It's that boring to me. I guess I just outgrew hiphop.

Realest shyt in the thread

The reason you stopped bumping GFID is because you wore it out. If i listened to a fukking album for a month, id get tried of it too. I do that with all albums I like. Thats human nature. I go tired of play life is good. Does that make the album wack? No. Whether you curtis/jeezy or shady groupies as well as other anti-ross stans admit it oir not, fatboy can spit and he makes better music that most mainstream rapper out now. FACT. GFID was simply one of the best albums so far with the exception of life is good. Lets not forget rich forever, Its funny how people bytch about ross, yet still they all cop all his material. Ross put out alot of tracks and work this year. Its not like the 90s. Nowdays you can get his music as soon as it comes out.

Only reason you grew tired of the album is cause you bumped it for so long. That doenst make the album horrible. Youre just being human. In all honestly GFID is some of the best shyt Ive heard all year. Ross can spit and has untouchable beat selection. Look at all these rappers trying to copy his formula and convert to the smooth justice league beats. Amsterdam, so sophisticated, ten jesus pieces, sixteen, dice pineapples, pirates, ashamed, ice cold are all in rotation but the same ross bashers wont admit it. GFID was solid as fukk just like his other albums. I can still remember bars, adlibs and cuts from this album.

I listened to Ross's other albums like 200 times... still not old. I listened to this GFID album THREE TIMES and it got wack.

You know why that happens? It's because you played it THE fukk out. Of course you won't listen to an album 2 months later after listening to it non stop for the first week or two. It's why I find the whole replay value argument weird as hell now.

Not gettin at you in particular diggy, just how I see it.

lol @ this bullshyt

nikkas have been playing the Nas album since it came out and no one is tired of it. Generic/avg music doesn't last long.

I feel sorry for people that don't understand the concept of "replay value". You've never heard a song that you could literally play for years? I don't even mean this Ross album....I mean any album. I dunno if the internet fukked up people's minds or what. I couldn't imagine listening to everything like :ld: then moving on to the next album. If an album really is good or classic there should be some kinda motivation to listen to it longer than a couple weeks.

I agree, its an average album but Amsterdam is Ross' best song ever (that and 'rich off cocaine')

you nikkas trying everything.... y'all been praying on his downfall since 2010

I turn on the radio and all I hear is Rick Ross records

been that way for two years straight now...

Replay value is arguably the best thing he has going right now

life is good really isn't a good album, if you're a nas fan. it's one of his weakest. far too commercial-sounding. it's BETTER sounding than his last stuff, barring illmatic and lost tapes, but it still has the shytty weak commercial sound i've disliked in the past. it always feels like nas is trying to appeal to the commercial crowd with his albums.

Really? I mean when i listen to LIG it sounds like Nas was actually having fun making those tracks. Doesn't sound commercial at all to me besides Summer on Smash(i tried but i hate that song). Nas made a more "mature" album than Ross, alot of real world topics were touched on LIG

No Introduction
Accident Murderers
Daughters
Reach Out
You wouldnt Understand
Back When
STAY
CHERRY WINE
BYE BABY

All excellent tracks imo. Im still not sure which album is better but LIG and GFID are the best releases this year BY FAR.

There has never been an album made that doesn't get old if u replay it and only it for weeks at a time. You gotta let it breath a lil bit. A true test of replayability is if u can go back to it after you've stopped listening to it for a while. GFID has that, just like many of Ross' previous albums and mixtapes.
