life is good really isn't a good album, if you're a nas fan. it's one of his weakest. far too commercial-sounding. it's BETTER sounding than his last stuff, barring illmatic and lost tapes, but it still has the shytty weak commercial sound i've disliked in the past. it always feels like nas is trying to appeal to the commercial crowd with his albums.

And its still better than GFID

Even though I didn't like GFID in the first place, but the concept of reply value doesn't make sense to me.

I agree with T/S after 2 listens I had no desire to go back. And its not even because of "all this music out there" its cause it was weak.

Life is good is still holding strong along with Curren$y Stoned Immaculate

I use to keep his albums in rotation for a min but I have no desire to listen to it anymore

Is it just me? :ld:

album is hot...he's just getting redundant. We all know Rick Ross the rapper is a character...but he's has a good roster of artists to back him up.

The internet has fukked up this thing called "replay value". After hearing numerous songs months before the album drops and then usually hearing the leak a week or two earlier, most albums usually have about a one month expiration date on them.

I only heard 3 songs including rich forever off of it honestly

when an album I want is coming out I never listen to many songs

did the same for nas, I still listen to the Nas album

but yes I know what you are saying, hearing songs spoils the album

off all of ross's albums I listened to this one to the least, but maybe its like what people said, its more of the same, I still check for him tho

This and the perpetual unlimited instant access to music...it's not like the 90s where I went to the record store a couple times a month, bought an album or two each time and then ran them hoes front to back for who knows how long (I think I had E. 1999 in rotation for a majority of an entire school year)...now a days I'm downloading new music on a literally everyday basis...that fundamental hip hop sensibility of always being up on the newest hottest shyt combined with unlimited access = it's rare that I exclusively listen to ANYTHING for longer than a week (and that's even stretching it)...Replay value nowadays means if some shyt pops up on shuffle a couple months after release, I don't automatically skip it

Although I dont play Ross' album that much either, this is pretty much on point.
Pretty much summed up Hip Hop consumer the past 8 years or so:obama:

I feel the same way. Since Trilla I'd have his albums on repeat. I used to bump DTR nonstop, everyday. Rich Off Cocaine was my shyt. The whole tropical theme of that album was piff. Then came TD. Loved that album. Listened to it everyday at work...

This new shyt though? It's horrible. Then again I've kind of outgrown hiphop so maybe that's why. I'll try listening to it again to see if I like it but as of now it's not a good album to me. It has some hotter spots on it though. I'll say this. None of the songs stand out to me on this record. On DTR, Trilla and TD I could remember the names of every song and if you asked me to sing a hook or rap a few bars from EVERY track, I could. With this record I don't even know the names of all the songs. It's that boring to me. I guess I just outgrew hiphop.

One problem is we have too much at our disposal so we just don't appreciate it like we did when you only had one new cassette every month or two. Now that we can walk around with 100,000 songs each one is less special.

this is the correct answer thats why i stop downloading so much music. I had the on my ipod and never listened to them.
