People who "Go Native" Meaning people who get booéd up overseas and live in small cities without any foriegners. They're very clannish and insular and they act like they're "better"because they know a few more words in the local Pig Latin than you do. Female "natives" are the worse of all.
The Brokepat. You english teachers and assorted miscreants they don't have enough dough to spend it tricking on hoes so a lot of them literally spend their time in cheap studio apartments drinking liquor and trying to scam fellow travelers

Again Being Black in Africa with a US passport helps in a lot of ways.
I know a breh who's buying a house in Africa in a new development for less than 90K and was able to get a mortgage loan for 50% down despite not even being an official resident.
Homie just went though the same asset verification process as you would in the states and got the loan.
So although I strongly suggest that you come to Africa with a bag you don't have to pay 100% for your home up front
However the interest rates are higher in Africa than in the states. That's good for money market accounts (you can get some in Kenya paying 10.6% interest) but bad when getting a loan as the home loan will cost more.

Yes Christmas up to Three Kings day. And Christmas starts with Candle day which is like a week before everyone goes home.
Crime is up because people get christmas bonuses and people try to steal the bonus
Prices are up for everything as people travel.
Christmas time is overall the worse time to be in the DR or Colombia but if you had to be in one place during Christmas it's best to be in the DR than Colombia. You will experience more of the christmas sprit in the DR and they will be more welcoming.
Also less people live outside of the places they were born in the DR so it isn't a mass exodus like it is in Colombian cities.
