That's the overall point of this thread. I mainly dipped from america because in the short term and long term It simply made financial sense to live overseas. I would've hard to go into debt to retrain for another career and possibly relocate. It didn't make economic sense and that was before COVID stopped everything.

Yep I totally understand. Especially for a black person living in africa or the DR (or in the Caribbean) are perfect spots because you can blend into the population and there are people who look like you.
As I stated I use to work overseas before covid. It was a blast but after awhile shyt got dull because many of the places I worked at had very few to no black people. shyt gets tiring after awhile especially as a person like myself who likes to be around black folks.
Exactly, I see people don't want to do the Dear Diary shyt on the expat life but yeah you bring up a good point on why you shouldn't expat; Boredom. After the newness of a culture wears off not being fluent not really knowing anyone bytches always needing this or that everyone having their hands in your pocket gets old.
If you do decide to expat it's better to do it in a place with lots of Black expats. People talk about how "matrix bytches" are coming to the DR "following brehs" But maybe they're just smart enough to know that no man is an island. As long as they don't catch feelings over brehs hollering at local women just vibing with people you know is a good thing. This is an issue for me in Kenya because the brehs that live there get boo'ed up and just hang with the person they;re boo'ed up with.
That's another thing about Africa they look up to ADOS people you will quickly get "adopted: by your girl's fam and friends. That's a good thing and a bad thing because if you have to bush her it's harder when you're close to her family.

I'm not advocating this but this thread was mainly a reaction to the One of the Coli's dreams lived out a Breh moves to Colombia First of all if moving to some rando country is your dream you aren't very ambitious. But having said that Ace, Philly, Barber and a whole host of other travel youtubers said that they had jobs where they were unhappy with and they got laid off got a severance package cashed out their 401K's sold everything they owned and dipped.
Again I don't advocate doing that but Ace worked in a warehouse before he started now he makes more money traveling than he did working. but that was after a couple years on the road. If you're overseas paying more than 550 in rent you're wrong and I'm talking about living in the flyest areas in the country really you shouldn't pay more than 450 in straight rent max and your household expenses should be 550.
Generally 20 to 25 K a year is balling out of control money, You can spend more but that's you throwing away money. There's tons of dudes who cashed out and flip stocks crypto do the airbnb game or just chill. If you're in a low key fukked up position and you have a bag maybe you should consider overseas. 250K can sustain you for 10 years more than enough time for you to figure it out.

You need to know if she or her family is sickly and likely to need money in the near future. Once she knows she got you the money asks might come thick and fast.

So my coworker would knock down some of the local coworkers at our job on the low. Females would throw the monkey at us cause we were american. Actually even in the 3rd world most countries have a single payer Obamacare (although it's janky) so elective surgery gets put off till they get the money up. But yeah you got to know what's up with your girl see if it's a real need or the fam telling her bytch you better get something out of him. All chicks low key want something. Don't pay more than 4 times what a furnished spot in the area costs. In a lot of countries you can get a decent apartment for 100 to 120 in most countries. Your girl who works in a bank is paying about that for a furnished two bedroom Unless you're staying in a really really nice spot there's no real need to pay more than 3 to 4 times what someone pays for their spot. Anything more and someone is getting over on you.

They also have nice co work offices all over. Granted there's a time difference usually 5pm in Nairobi is around 9am in the states and Kenya is ahead of the states in time.
