ICP's first album had 3 producers in 1992
Didn't KRS first album had multiple produces?
Big,how?
wrongIf you want to be real technical, no. However, it is one of the 1st, if not the first albums where's there NO PRIMARY producer. For example. Even though Sir Jinx producer several tracks on Cube's AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted, the primary producers were the Bomb Squad. In the past there were in-house or primary producers that oversaw the production of a rap album. Nas' Illmatic was different where there wasn't any true primary producer, it was indeed the FIRST TIME the TOP PRODUCERS of the time ever collaborated in crafting the album. And ever since then, record labels sought for the biggest & hottest collection of producers to producer songs for any future artist's LP.

The PRIMARY producer was his cousin PETE ROCK... it wasn't a balance of top producers.
How about you don't know what the fukk you talking about PERIODI will give a CAVEAT with Down with the King though, because I completely forgotten that album.
blatant lie. Even if you weren't around back then(and I was) all you have to do is google. Cube and G rap were using multiple produces before Illmatic droppedIs this a fact,or a blatant lie?
Primo wasn't that big in 93. Don't forget that Illmatic was recorded in 92 and 93 and released early 94. Large Pro had only received credit for producing one album and we found out 2 decades later that he actually did most of the production on G rap's Wanted Dead or Alive and Eric B/Rakim Let the Rhythm hit em only for Eric to rob him of his credit. So no, Large Pro and Primo were not that large yet even though Gang Starr had 3 stellar albums but he wasn't the go to guy yet.. Pete Rock was pretty big and Q Tip was the most popular of the 4. LES was baaically unknown.as in well known and respected in the hip hop comunity. can you find another album prior to illmatic with a better line up than dj premier, q-tip, large pro and pete rock.
Kane's It's a Big Daddy Thing, released in September of '89, featured production from:
- Prince Paul
- Easy Mo Bee
- Marley Marl
- Teddy Riley
