U HAVE NO UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT DRE MEANT WHATSOEVER

DRE PRODUCED COMPTON AS AN ALBUM, DESPITE HAVING COLLABORATORS

WHAT DRE WAS TALKING ABOUT WAS JUST A COLLECTION OF RANDOM BEATS ALL BY DIFFERENT PRODUCERS PACKAGED AS AN ALBUM WIT NO ONE LEADING THE WAY ON THE ENTIRE PROJECT

THIS ISNT ROCKET SCIENCE FAM
Tell me what the credit says. He said executive produced the album. To say each producer didn’t produce their own tracks is nonsense.

Dre is not the same Producer he was with the Wrecking Crew.
Dre is not the same Producer he was with Ruthless.
Dre is not the same Producer he was with Death Row.
His equipment has changed & over time so has his production techniques.
Today Money is not a problem but that wasn't always the case.
Most producers can't afford session players.
After listening to the interview, it seems like Dre has a selective memory.

I see it differently.

If I don't know how to play a horn, I'm bringing in a great horn player instead of finding a sample.

I don't know how to play the keyboard/piano, I'm bringing in Scott Storch.

I need a dope, guitarist. I'm bringing in Rene Elizondo.

Many hip hop producers sample, Dre does it AND brings in cats who can make what he's looking for.

There is nothing wrong with that.

The problem is people in this thread are not respecting peoples talents and contributions.

Music is supposed to be collaborative.

He's right. There's only 2 rappers that managed to make 10/10 albums with multiple proucers: Kendrick Lamar and Nas
Kanye alone has made several. Same with his own artist at the time The Game and 50 Cent. He must be speaking about executive producing, which i agree the idea is kinda dead because you got a bunch of non-producing Ar's and "tastemakers" filling that role, or even worse very likely the artist just picking beats they like

not true.,

Great Adventures of Slick Rick had Jam Master Jay, Slick Rick, and Bomb Squad. Death Certificate had Jinx, Cube, and Boogie Men. Predator had a bunch of producers. Reasonable Doubt had 7 or 8 different producers hahah. Illmatic was the first known album to do this because around that time producers were starting to become household names, but even before Illmatic, there were classic albums with Multiple producers. It just wasn't normal at the time.
