And DC cost more than L.A.

I pick LA over DC

No the hell it doesn't :mjlol:

You can buy a house in PG county or Howard county in the $300s. Up in Columbia, MD for Howard or up in Bowie, Laurel, Accoceek for PG. You can get a townhouse closer in the beltway if commute time/traffic is more important to you. DC is relatively expensive compared to places like Chicago or Philly but, LA is just a shade underneath New York in terms of cost. Good luck finding ANYTHING within an hour drive to LA in the $300s that doesn't look like a crack house. I gave up that LA dream fast as hell. You'd be renting forever or buying your first house in Compton :mjlol: or in Inland Empire which is a good 2 hour drive back into LA. LA is a city for the poor and the rich.

Look at the crime rate where most of us live.

Anybody black with the resources would leave too. When will American black men hold each other accountable for our self-destructive behavior patterns they keep us from progressing as a collective?

It's the poor blacks that's leaving cac

You have to spend $300k+ to get a decent 500sqft one bedroom apartment within an hour of LA or NYC, yet all these people going on about how people are living on a fraction of 100k there, but still living well.

How the heck are you living well when you only make 50k and your 1bedroom condo costs $300,000? :mjlol:

Where are you getting money to pay your bills? :dead:

to be honest, I dont know how it's gonna work. the amount of money she will make for the promotion is almost triple my salary, so it was a no brainer. plus she is eligible for bonuses of up to 25% of her salary. we will see how it goes. her lease is only for 6 months. if we can't handle it, I will move down there or she will come back and find another gig as I still make enough money on my own to support the household. this would be simple if not for kids who will be staying up here for the forseeable future cuz of school. maybe we go down there for the entire summer. it hasn't been decided. luckily flights on southwest between here and dallas can be found for as low as $45 each way.

oh yeah on top of that, we JUST bought this house we have now a year ago. :snoop:

so that is another thing that makes it hard to just simply move.

I'd say ride it out for as long as you can because she may stay down there more than two years, since you were saying she was making less than you for a while even with her degrees, so I know she's not going to be trying to give that money up.

You may be able to rent out the house you're in now if you decide to move down there. :yeshrug:
