Where the Lakers gonna get "depth" from though? They only have 4 guys under contract and none of them is a point guard or center. If they had used the $32 million and midlevel exemption to sign some interesting combination of players to complement LeBron and AD then that might have been a great team, but anyone they would have wanted to sign ended up getting paid too much anyway.

LeBron + AD + Kawhi is dominant enough to fill out the team with ring-chasing vets at the minimum. 35yo LeBron + AD is too likely to run into injuries or fatigue to carry the team all season long when the rest of the roster might as well be vets at the minimum.

That's the intrigue lol. There's still C+ level FAs available to build a decent team around Bron and AD. Hey, it's what AD signed up for when going to LA

Lakers took a risk by waiting on Kawhi, and it may pay off, but if it doesn't, they will still have solid depth players to get, just not as solid as they could have got if they targeted the B+ players from day one of FA.

I swore I read that sing Iggy is leaving in a trade and not just signing as a free agent they aren't allowed to publicly talk about outgoing players until the official call is made with the league offices.

Not in any way that matters.

Morris actually tries hard on defense and shows out in the playoffs. Love can't defend anyone and crumbles in the playoffs. Plus Love always seems like kind of a locker room downer.

At this point I honestly don't see any contender wanting Love on their roster at all.
