Stopped fukking with ign since the Godhand review.

To be fair I realized long ago that the gaming press has very little to do with journalism. It relies on publishers sending out advanced copies of games, gets advertising revenue from publishers and game related paraphernalia and defends shady business practices.

I stopped messing w/IGN yrs ago when some of their game reviews was on some bias/suspect shyt. It was like these publishers pay IGN for there reviews on some of these games. When I would check other sites like Gamespot or operation sports (sports games) the reviews would be completely different.

Plot twist: they do.

I was done with big platform video game journalism after the gamergate shyt. These dudes don't have any integrity

One thing to remember that each review is one person's opinion, just like movie reviews. EGM had a nice system where you got four people's opinion and you would have thought that more would've copied that.

Irrelevant ad hominems. Of course people are shytty to each other on the internet, but that doesn't dismiss the fact that reviewers at major companies received soft bribes for years and didn't disclose any of it until ... you guessed it, gamer gate!
Gamergate was a reaction from the gaming community being called a bunch of sexist and racist.

But the majority of the gaming community is in fact a bunch of sexist racist. A bunch of nerds getting mad at the truth.

It was a reaction to the revelation of an intimate relationship between a developer and reviewer. It's probably true that a lot in the gaming community are sexist and racist, but let's keep in mind a large number of people around the planet hold these views. That's not to excuse the racism/sexism, but it's not a uniquely gamer-related problem ... the progressive ideas of anti-gamergaters are relatively new and isolated.

That relationship was irrelevant to what gamergate eventually became. Gamers were mad that publications accused them of being a bunch of racist sexist in response to gamers calling that girl a whore. They had a problem with what they saw as "SJWs" infiltrating the gaming community.

The irony in the whole ordeal is that they are exactly what the publications were accusing them of being.

When cacs start spewing alt right terms like "sjw" you should already know what they really mean.

This alt right CAC explains what gamergate really was perfectly.

It was basically an alt right movement.

The collusion from the gaming industry def threw gasoline on the flames, but the Greyson/Quinn fallout was the initial spark.

What's ironic is you're making the same categorical mistake as the gaming press did back then. Not everyone, or even most, who agreed with gamergate was alt-right or even necessarily conservative. Rejecting ultra-liberal/progressive views, especially when presented in video games, doesn't mean you're a right wing white supremacist.

Question for both of you..do you know/understand what the hell is going on with ppl and Battlefield 5? Been seeing "SJW" being vomited in the comments of those vids a lot.
