Also “Starting from the bottom”
It just puts a spotlight on the fact your parents were financially incapable or irresponsible.
If you have your kids running around talking like that in 2021, you failed them.

How can you say this? The past 3 years on the Coli, we've been discussing government and institutional barriers that have impeded Black people's progress, since before 1776.
Despite those obstacles, there are Blacks who have been able to build,retain, and pass down wealth. But the occupational,homeowner, wealth building barriers have only begun to be lifted in the 1960s.
How can you say that parents who don't have resources to pass down were incapable or irresponsible?

Also, middle class raised folks of all races are quick to claim "out of the mud" "started from the bottom, now we're here". Listen to a random speech by a white tech startup CEO.
