If you replace Olajuwan on those Rockets championship teams with current Embiid do they still win?

Close thread. Embiid shouldn't even be in the same sentence as Hakeem at this point. I can see Jokic though, even though he don't have any defensive impact while Dream was an anchor.
Close thread my ass it's not my fault y'all can't intellectually analyze a topic and discuss accordingly. Like I've already stated, besides dream the East was where the best big men resided so Embiid wouldn't have had to face him or any other crazy matchup until he got to the finals. And like I said, I think Embiid beats the Knicks but loses in '95

Y'all really making this out to be a ridiculous topic when it really isn't. There's only been a few good points made related to the actual topic and I've dapped when appropriate.

Dream was such a sure thing in the post. Outside of health, Joels problem is he doesnt have a go-to. He waffles between jacking up uncontested 3s and never fully commits to playing in the post. Which isnt totally his fault. Modern NBA penalizes post players as committing to the post minimizes possessions and Possessions wins the modern NBA game.

The Nuggets subvert this as Jokic has insane touch at the basket so he rarely misses, and hes such a lightning fast playmaker (and the nugs have snipers and cutting machines in Gordon) and if that fails, Jokic can switch up and pass out of the top of the key (or Murray takes over). Jokic is a fukkin monster :wow: .

Yes. Part of the reason that rockets team was so good is bc of the 4 shooters on the floor at all times. It was unheard of then. Jet, Maxwell, Ellie, horry….then off the bench Matt Bullard. There was like 5 3pt sniping bigs in the league then and Houston had 2 of em

You put Embiid in there he’d attract the same level of doubles, would be the same level of unstoppable

Embiid struggling against Al Hortford and shyt, I'm supposed to believe he's gonna outplay D-Rob, Ewing, and Shaq? :heh:

This is the type of dismissive ‘nothing impresses me’ mentality that is destroying hoops discourse. One of the most gifted offensive bigs ever and you disregard him bc of 1, ONE, bad matchup

Miss me with this fake ass intellectual take

That Boston series is symbolic of who Embiid is in the postseason. More often than not, Embiid doesn't show these offensive gifts in the playoffs when his team needs him to the most.

Last year against Boston, no need to explain that.

He wasn't great against Miami the year prior, and had a horrible closeout game. Keep in mind Miami's tallest player was 6'9. But I'll give him a slight pass because of the orbital fracture.

The year they lost to the Kawhi Raptors, man had fits trying to score against 80 year Marc Gasol

Had a pretty good series against the Hawks, but disappeared at the end of game 7, which has been his postseason MO

Dream always leveled up in the playoffs compared to the regular season, Embiid does the opposite. I honestly don't know why this is even a discussion

Dream is actually the perfect person to make this point. Dream didn’t win a chip or an mvp til 32. What was he doin for 10 years :wtf: By todays standard, nothin :unimpressed:

In today’s game we start roasting nggas in year 4 for not having a chip, fukk your accolades ngga:unimpressed:

Ie Jayson Tatum is 26. And been on the hot seat since 24. Yall woulda ate Dream alive. Nggas don’t appreciate shyt

Hakeem was leveling up in the playoffs for the most part before he won a ring. Embiid has historically gone in the opposite direction.

If Embiid was putting up reg. season numbers in the playoffs, and losing, this conversation would be different

If you think he'll have an ATG run in the playoffs, then yeah he prob gets one. I think really anyone that was GREAT, much less all time great, would've got them the win in 2019. That being said, you still need GS to break down, or they just go 5 out and shoot the life out of Hakeem
