If you are black and graduated/attended college, did you attend an HBCU?

Attended FAMU.
Great business program. Never regretted it.

I helped out with recruiting at my company at FAMU this past year, SBI students were really impressive
Only applied to 2 schools FSU and FAMU. FAMU was my 1st choice. I got my acceptance letter from FSU, financial Aid, and my apartment set and hadn't heard back from FAMU. the week before I'm set to leave for Tally, the Dean of the Business School calls my house and asks if I'm still coming :wtf: I'm like, I never even received an acceptance letter from yall. I had everything already set with FSU so :manny: But I did want to go to Famu at 1st
Dawg :dead: FAMU was also my first choice I didn't get my acceptance letter until like 2 weeks after the deadline where you are to
notify schools of your acceptance :sadcam:

I did end up attending and graduating from an hbcu and its an
experience I would never trade. I think whatever issues some schools have we work to resolve them, students and staff, instead of just dismissing HBCU's all together

a full 4 years at one of the most prominent HBCU in my area (Dillard Univ.) is going to run you about $80,000. Xavier Univ. runs about 100k.

at the nearest PWI (Univ. Of New Orleans) where I attend: $35,000-40000.

This does not include summer semesters, and is based on being a commuting student, 15 hrs per semester, finishing in exactly 4 years.

What am I paying an extra $40,000 for? that's 2 brand new "normal" cars!

You can't compare private and public colleges bruh. Private colleges aren't funded by the state.

How much is UNO compared to Southern or Grambling?

Yea I'm a firm believer in not paying for education; Only reason I'm here now is that its paid for;

I'm glad to hear that! I attended when Dean Mobley was head of SBI, she was serious about developing students academically and socially for the business world. I think one of the most important parts of the program was Professional Development. Having the opportunity to work on interviewing, speaking skills, attending business receptions, etc. was invaluable-especially for black students that might not have previously had the exposure to those kinds of environments and situations.

I'm sorry to hear that you did not get your notifications in time. I know that when I attended students had problems with the administration office and financial aid. It's disappointing to hear that those kind of problems are still occurring. It sometimes seemed like the employees resented the students, but if we weren't there, they wouldn't' have the job.

But isn't Southern right there in Baton Rouge tho.

But hell, I can't talk GSU and Louisiana Tech are 5 mi. apart and I went to Tech because registration was easy and I wanted to walk on to a BCS football team.

I thought I could still make it to the league
