The Diasporic religions like Vodou, Candomble, Winti, Santeria, Hoodoo, etc are a testament of that.

Let's look at a super basic scripture Leviticus 19 verse 11.
11 Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.
Super simple but if applied across the board would go a long way. The reason you don't lie goes beyond simple moralism it's because it becomes harder to work as a collective with the spreading of misinformation. If you're dealing with someone in your community you do so justly. Don't try to exploit your own. The same goes for stealing. You ultimately steal from no one but yourself.
For example, If I steal crops from another man's field and eat what's not mine. I'm not only robbing that man and his family but myself too because if I don't have the necessary skills to produce those crops on my own and constantly have to leech off of someone else's work once my source runs dry I have to find another host or starve. All the while I'm hurting the actual producers in the community and have to resort to more desperate majors to survive ultimately making matters worst for everyone when it would've been better to actually learn how to yield crops on my own.

Black Americans weren't just from West Africa. Even West Africans weren't originally from West Africa. By the way, last I checked, Christianity and Islam are practiced in West Africa. What's the difference here?
It has nothing to do with self hatred and it irks me because it comes off condescending.
Everyone isn’t educated nor have many African Americans been taught properly that we are descendants from West Africa. We simply can trace ourselves back to the continent, not anywhere specific.
Just like people who suffer from retrocognition many do entertain the notion we come directly from pharaohs, kings, or are Gods chosen people. That’s a lot more rich than the reality of our ancestors being regular members of whatever tribe or village that they were sold from.
So I think instead of belittling each other when it comes to this subject we should try to inform others of it. It’s sad because the reality is there really is a large portion of history that we can only generalize about. Idk i try not to hold anything against those who do think we came from Egypt or anywhere in the Middle East
They say it’s important to know your history so if it was true then there’s a part many didn’t know.
I don’t believe we are and I actually dislike the notion that we are because saying black people are Jews is a notion that gives validity to the treatment we’ve received in the Americas and Arab nations during the Arab slave trade and the Barbary slave trade.
