You nikkas are fukking retarded and have no objectivity. Ever nikka in here talking bout Mac Dre is a top 5 or 10 emcee:mjlol: is out they goddamn mind and clearly has to be from the Yay area.

This is not an indictment on Mac Dre at all, he's a dope MC, one of the funniest and best personalities, and a Legend in the game, albeit regional. But the way y'all stanning ass nikkas be trying to overrate him is despicable.

Furthermore, that beat on that song was one of the wackest hip hop beats ever.

If you wanna talk about this objectively though, let's do that. There's a lot to be considered

Actually objectivity is what I specialize in . . however that's a good standard to look for so I applaud you for bringing it up. My question for you is to what extent have you experienced his work?

And why do you feel the need to cling to paradigms?

I feel like I'm getting baited into a SirBiatchesque set of questions that will never end, and I'm not going down that road lol.

I got on Mac Dre after he died. I have not done a "deep dive" on his music, but I am much more familiar with it than the average person not from the West Coast (From Chicago) The only album I brought was the one with "Not My Job" I think the Genie of the Lamp CD. That's one of my favorite songs of all time. I'm more familiar with his music than just that album though.

I do get why he is so beloved, but I think he is overrated a bit because of his premature death. He's definitely not a top 25 rapper to me.

Well just from listening to that song.... I can say he would have an elite flow and cadence in the 80s.... idk when this song came out but it sounds dated as fukk.. It's a good song but I'd have to be in the mood for some shyt like that.. I don't bump kurtis blow on the regular

I'm not here to play forum, I'm genuinely interested in Mac Dre discussions more than most of what the world has to offer and I want to know what's going on in your evaluation that has us at such different points - a lot of people don't know that much about Mac Dre, yet still offer an assessment. It seems you're more familiar with him than a lot of people though

Are you aware that his catalog extends 15 years? I'm curious to know if you know that or if there's some reason you don't value his tenure and output the way you do others. Is there a reason for that or have you just not been told by anyone how to view his legacy?

Before we get into rankings I'd like to see how you're looking at it

that song isn't the best example of what he's known for, but rather shows a different light and OP posted it for people that may normally look past Mac Dre because they place a premium on deeper themes

shoutout to Kansas City... :hubie:
If the Bay Area was AAA baseball Kansas City would be AA - playing second fiddle and aspiring to be the Bay

I've never defended the Bay, just representing the truth

I don't care anything about that, that's more than I need to know about Coli member - or anyone for that matter

I don't value his opinion anymore or any less than anyone else
