Sad to say, but I almost feels like we need a taste of it. Nothing is guaranteed in life, certainly not our civil liberties. Hasn't been guaranteed for most of history and the whole world is moving to right wing autocracies, but dummies in here and the country over don't think it can't happen. Our grandparents were the last to experience real strife, so our generation and younger don't think it's possible.

i think even kamala, being a “woman of color,” can win.

In bold. You should be. There are a host of issues historically Dems voters are displeased with. Issues like the unweaving support for Israel, people spending more on groceries to house affordability, and dem cities that have taken an influx of immigrants and using their resources to support them.
