If Rick Ross doesn't sell more than TM103 will it be considered a flop?

:laff: @ the Santa defense. And at the climate being dramatically different 6 months ago other than it being cold outside....is 300K sum impossible number?that's a lowball figure,he can't do less than half of Drake?

The real question is will the "critics" give Ross his credit if he does sell well or will they divert to the typical "Def Jam bought records" excuse :mjpls:

I'm sure it will be used. That excuse will be laughable if he outsells Jeezy and someone says that Def Jam bought the records. As if they aren't labelmates and they kind of sabotage one artist to make the other look better. That excuse is laughable as is, but in this situation, it'd be worse.

The climate is dramatically different than it was 6 months ago. 300K is pretty high considering only two artists in 2012 have reached or exceeded it. Madonna and Beiber are the only artists in 2012 to do those type of numbers. One is an icon (Madonna) and the other is a teen Pop sensation who had a Top 10 hit. Nicki Minaj is one of the bigger artists in music and she didn't even do those numbers.

No matter what numbers GFID does, people that don't like Ross will spin it as a flop.

In reality, one's numbers don't have anything to do with the other. Yes, they are rivals, but it's not like there was a challenge presented by either side in regard to album sales.

If it is a matter of numbers, then there's several factors to consider:

1) Jeezy dropped during the holiday season in which first week sales usually higher than normal for most artists.

2) Jeezy dropped in a climate in which Wayne did like 960K+ in one week and Drake did 680K+. Ross is dropping in a climate in which one of the biggest artists out there did 250K+.

^^^ I'm sure both 1 & 2 will be ignored by spin artists who will consider Ross's album a flop regardless.

That wasnt even a year ago tho, cmon now, wayne and drake would still do those numbers

Also consider that Lady Gaga's first week sales from last year is >>>>>> than the total sales of the highest selling album released in 2012 (Lionel Richie's Tuskeegee). An album from 2011, Adele's 21 is killing everything that's been released since sales wise.

:snoop: everybody has expectations how low u want Rosses to be? How much lower can his sells be than a man that's dead for it not to be a flop?and stop usin Chris Brown as a comparison...dude had the biggest record of his career with Deuces, and Look At Me Now....this time around he had absolutely nuthing...u think his fans gon buy shyt after hearing nuthin but bs singles just cuz he chris brown....I'm pretty sure that Graffiti album flopped for the same reason his most recent one did....Nicki minaj had the same issues, and she wuz no longer "new" so she sold less numbers after them wack singles she dropped even her fans didn't fuk with....stop usin them two as examples,it doesn't fit....I don't even think Ross will flop so I don't know why y'all think ima "spin" anything.

:wtf: wayne would still do those numbers, u nikkas are in denial now.

nicki minaj went pop which is why her sales declined, artist like wayne and jeezy has loyal fanbases and much diverse audiences unlike ross.

regardless of sales gfid will be the hottest album in the streets until dreams and nightmares drop, but if he dosent go more than 200k first week then that's a major dissapointment especialy with all the promo he is getting not to mention he has his own promotion with his videos.

No matter what it sells, it'll be considered a flop by people on the internet because they hate nigg@s succeeding. Take a look at any anticipated album after the week it dropped.
