:patrice: So the style of play that won him 4 MVPs, 3 Championships, has him 3rd All-Time in Scoring, and 8th All-Time in assists is somehow the wrong path?

Yes cause he's 3-6 in the Finals during a weak era. He should have 6 rings right now. I think he left a lot on the table that he could have accomplished. Just like Shaq.

nikka been in the league almost 20 years and op linking us to hs vids :russ:. Half the people that post here was like 6 years old then :mjlol:

How can yall not watch this video on repeat? It was amazing to watch. Bron was a completely different player. He was primarily an off-ball player. He had combo moves. Jab step. Jab step. One dribble. Spin. Fadeaway. Are you kidding me? Bron in his 30s couldn't do what he was doing at 18.

I really think Bron limited his greatness by turning into a drive and kick point forward that plays primarily through pick n rolls rather than staying as an off-ball scorer who played the way 2s and 3s traditionally played. By trying to do everything as a point forward his one on one isolation scoring skills declined. A LeBron that plays like Kobe would have more rings. He should have stuck to his high school body type as well. Becoming heavier caused him to lose his body control and agility.

For you not to fukk with lebron, you got this nikka on your mind in the middle of the night and you talking about him 16 years ago:russ:

YouTube recommended me this video. Which is weird cause I don't watch LeBron highlights. I find the way he currently plays unappealing. Nonetheless I decided to check it out and my mind was blown. I forgot that Bron was completely different in high school. I enjoyed the video so much it got me to thinking what Bron could've been if he continued that way rather than transforming. That's why I made this thread.

He’s 35. You except him to be the same athlete he was at 18? And he’s way bigger now.

He’s adapted his game. He can’t run around the perimeter anymore like he used to. With the loss of quickness, he’s become a more calculated player that picks his spots and posts up a lot.

I agree with you about his body type. He was already big. He didn’t have to get huge like he is now. Anybody that knows LeBron well knows his athletic prime was 03-10 w/ the Cavs. His quickness has never been the same since.

He looked damn good in these high school highlights trying to play like Kobe. All the way down to that arm band above his elbow like early 00s Kobe.

I think he would've more successful in the NBA if he continued to build on his 18 year old skill set rather than dropping it in favor of physicality. A more skill based LeBron would have 6 rings right now instead of 3.
put bron now out on the court vs. the same level of competition he was facing in school it'd look like some form of avant.garde performance art

playing at the highest level bron opts to be simple & effective

why would he make things harder trying to play like kobe just for aesthetics sake¿

kobe played like that because he had to he couldn't refine it down to a simple straight line approach cause he wasn't a physically overpowering player

Just because something is individually effective doesn't mean its the best way to try and win championships. Forget Kobe and look at Jordan. He played a refined technical game based on skill and was 6-0 in the Finals. When I look at a 18 year old LeBron I see a guy who could've done Jordan better than Kobe did Jordan. If Bron patterned his game after MJ he would be far more successful than he is right now. Teams like the Spurs would not have beaten him.

I GET WHAT SWAG IS SAYIN, BUT BRON WAS NEVER AS SKILLED AS KOBE OR MJ... NOT EVEN CLOSE. SO WHILE THIS STYLE OF PLAY CUT IT IN HIGH SCHOOL FOR HIM, HE WOULDA ENDED UP BEIN A BIGGER DEMAR DEROZAN AT BEST IF HE WOULDA NEVER ADAPTED TO BEING A POWER PLAYER AND RELIED PRIMARILY ON SKILL.

How was LeBron so much more skilled at 18 years old than now? He went from a graceful skilled player as a high schooler to a guy who wins through brute strength in the NBA.

I miss this version of Bron. I was so excited when he came into the NBA. I thought he would replace Kobe as my favorite player. Unfortunately he decided to gain 50 lbs, become stiff, and play bull ball instead of playing like Jordan and Kobe.

He weighed 240....at 17/18.

He was always going to physically look different later in his career. Pull up HS vids (for real) of Amare, Dwight and even Kwame Brown (yes). Athletically they moved in a way that allowed for more finesse on the court.

If you want to complain the issue should be more that LeBron didn't embrace his physcial advantage. Becoming more of a PF early in his career instead of trying to play like a SG. Should have been had a post game.

there's centers that look like rusting tin men in the league but put them against civilians those goofy fakkits would be dancing like kyrie

you couldn't imagine what bron would look like playing against civilians
