No one would care. Biggie & 2Pac were "rivals" who were murdered at the heights of their careers. It was good tv and tragic as well.

Jay-Z & Nas are 40 plus. Their deaths wouldn't have any impact on anything.

This.

If they both died when they were still beefing, ether and takeover dropped than it would be something. Otherwise it's :yeshrug:

Where Ever The Best Stuff On Earth Is.
God forbid but whichever one dies first will have the bigger hype in death in the same pattern as Pac had over Biggie. Right now its a toss up because both of their legacies will be overhyped but I have a feeling that if Jay goes first it will overshadow Nas' death. With that said Nas has to go first in order for the proper respect to be bestowed. If nas goes first you will see a lot of rappers come out and say he was the best to ever do it on the mic.

them being 40 + means more music and moves to get dissected.

Plus, I'm sure books, movies, etc. would be made about them to keep their legacy going.

jay-z = all media would revolve around him for a week..
Nas = all hip hop media would revolve around him for a week.

all media for a day or two....

I think y'all overestimating Nas' importance in the white media. I can almost assure most white people (those who aren't hip-hop fans) have never even heard of Nas. Whereas, I think just about everybody, white and black, whether they like hip-hop or not, at least know who Jay Z is. More white people know Snoop, Ice Cube, Lil Wayne, and Andre 3000 than Nas.

jay z more of a business man, nas just a rapper

as far as music goes, both seem kinda over rated to me

Read the part I bolded again. G-Zeus said all media for a day or two. Read again.

The part you bolded just said "all media for a day or two". He clearly stated all media would revolve around jay for a week and all hip hop media would revolve around nas for a week. He wasn't implying most white people knew who Nas was. You suggested that was the implication. But whatever...it's not that serious.

When big and pac died it was a sad day for hip hop and in general *remembers damn near cryin when I woke up that sunday morning and heard big died*

It would be the same for nas or jay

You can make a case for nas or jay being the goats alive it would just get amplified
