Exactly, we called it "Urkel" because the show was all about his fukkery with no classic moments to compete with Fresh Prince...shyt just the first season.

  • Will moving in.
  • The end of the episode when he played the piano
  • Jazz introduction
  • When Will told the interview dude about how country Uncle Phil grew up
  • Ice Tray
  • The "Driving While Black" episode
  • Timothy Dela Ghetto
That's just the first 7 episodes.

Smart Guy was about a genius boy living in the suburbs and miles ahead of "Urkel."

Exactly,i loved Smart Guy and will still watch when its on today. Urkel needs to take his issues up with the writers and network. What we wont do is act like Urkel wasnt a comedic dynamo when he first started making appearances. But the problem clearly became when they started to build the show around Urkel. Not a problem ratings wise and selling toys. But the more options black people had,we wasnt trying to watch Family Matters. Instead of having Urkel evolve into a different, serious character. He continued to basically do his same clown act every week, and get all his catchphrases in. That effected the quality of th3 show.

I understand what he talking about but he could have left off the tv analogies with martin and living single

He basically saying if your story isn’t a allen iverson, 50 cent type of story and more like kobe, grant hill , young mc or his then it get look down at in certain aspects of society

He just saying black people are more than the stereotype

This. I know what hes trying to say it. He just worded it poorly.

He’s right. People are going to be disingenuous. But the tide is changing. There’s alot of black content on screen in 2024 that would’ve never been made in 2004 or 1994. He should stop talking and be one of the people that’s trying to help shift the tide. He has all the resources and connections to get a show or a movie made.
