I'm really surprised how many people in this thread are missing the point. Yes Family Matters was a bad show that was popular. Jameel even said that himself over the years. The overall point is the black image is in a bubble and primarily driven by the hood perspective. We are in 2024 and see that everyday in our music. Even Spike Lee commented how difficult it is to get funding to make non-hood movies but it its easy to come across when they are. People know what he's really saying and don't want to admit it.
