I lived in Texas for three years. I'm NOT an outsider. I can compare the two.

Blacks and Mexicans do NOT share the same relationship. I can't mix up a Mexican walking down the street from a black person. But I can mix up a PRican walking down the street from a black person because they can be one and the same.

That means nothing. Dominicans look like the carbon copy of black people but we aint close at all.

That's your perspective though (Northeast) :yeshrug: I have a different perspective on that.
That's my perspective living amongst Puerto Ricans. My perspective is from living amongst Mexicans.

Other than in pockets of Chicago, where is your perspective of living amongst Puerto Ricans coming from then other than lumping Mexicans with Ricans as one and the same?

They don't get down like Dominicans or Mexicans.

You lived there long enough to know it's "unique."

Outside of NYC, there isn't a large PRican contingent to speak of to mirror it!!!

Outside of Cali and Texas...there IS a large contingent of Mexicans. You can't compare the two. There are more Puerto Ricans born in NYC than there are in Puerto Rico.

It's completely different measures of scale!!

Chicago. We don't fukk with each other at all. That "that's my latin/hispanic" brother shyt don't exist over here my man.

That pocket in Chicago is too small to speak of and only goes back to the 1940s, no different than in Hartford.

Which group of people do African-Americans get along with?

Exactly. I see no difference coming up between their relationship with Ricans to any other group, even with black skin.

Either way, we should be happy they're moving to Miami now because they're breaking up the Cuban republican voting bloc down there. Ricans vote damn near along the same lines as African Americans more than any other latin group.

Eh, where did I say that mexican=puerto rican ?

But only ricans live in Chicago and NY now? From my experiences in the south the only ones on that "brotherhood" tip were from the northeast. That's my perspective.

It don't matter they there. And for the most part the relationship is pretty much the same to the one we have with mexicans out here.

Lets just face the facts. African-Americans have problems with everybody. :manny:

Which group of people do African-Americans get along with?

I don't have time for your african americans are the worst people in the world type arguments. Last comment to you.

It's barely 100,000 of them there while theres more in Mass and small ass Conn. Yet I don't see the beefs or lines of distinction like that out in those parts.

Who said that besides you? :what:

Dog....be real....you can say that beef you're speaking on with Ricans can be said about any other group dealings with African Americans if you look hard enough.

What experience in the "south" speaks to the Puerto Rican/Black dynamic?

What "experience" is it based on? "where" in the south has that experience taken place? That's my point. You can't speak on it.....there is no perspective on that particular relationship because there isn't a contingent of Ricans living in the south other than moving to Miami now. And the first thing we've seen from their impact moving to Miami was helping to make Dade County an Obama voting bloc.

But the fact remains outside of nyc we aint close at all. So it's no surprise as to why people don't feel close with them. That's all im saying.

That was to greatestlaker who has a history of blaming stuff on african americans. Not you homie.
