I didn't watch the HBO feed last week, watching the replay tonight and Lampley's commentary is ABSURD. This dude is acting like GGG was laying waste to Canelo and that wasn't the case in the least bit.

I thought he and Roy were over the top. So much so that it was clear that Jim was for GGG and Roy for Canelo.

Lampley aside, who is a GGG homer, it seemed like Max and RJJ were into this fight more than they usually are. Might have to rewatch the commentary, but it seemed liked they were letting their inner fans out during the broadcast. Might have hurt the commentary if you were hoping to see it be unbiased either way, but this fight captured that boxing emotional inside anyone who is a fan, but to see Max and Roy on air feeling like the rest of us...thats a good fight.:wow:

Roy knows what he's talking about. he just didn't want Canelos work to be ignored like The internet fans did Ward for the second half of the first Sergay fight.

Thats just one point of view. Many other fighters including Daniel Jacobs who felt he beat GGG, felt like GGG won this fight and that Canelo didn't do enough. Hell Errol got on Twitter and asked why did Canelo stop fighting. Their opinions are just as valid as Roy's and they're not some random innanets fanboys. They're actual fighters with ring experience, especially Jacobs since he's been in the ring with one of them.

Roy is my mans. Met him a lot when I was kid. Watched him help young kids down here at Prince Gym...

But his opinion is just one of many other fighters from that night.

They'e opinions but they aren't Roy J9nes..they dont have his greatness or experience. They havent showed anything close to that actually. Its cool they saw the fight a certain way but Roy knows the inside of that ring on a much more visceral level.

But I would still take the opinion of someone who's been in the ring with one of them over someone who was super great at it. That seems more hands on to me. Thats why fighters watch video of their opponent. To see what works and what doesnt.

Yea but usually a fighter will lean towards the guy they faced. If canelo wins it makes Danny look worse since technically he has an L to little g. So now it looks like canelo is above him as well. Not saying Danny doesn't really think little g won. But that's just usually how it goes.

And I felt roy and max were just trying to balance out Lampley's over the top dikk riding. Roy mentioned how he hadnt seen little g land anything significant....which was the truth....and jim immediately cut him off like "I have!"........jim was trying his hardest to sway the viewers from the get go. While Roy and max could clearly see canelo was landing all the clean neck snapping punches. Roy was also dead on how canelo was going to the ropes on his own and not being forced there. It was basically the same old story with every hbo telecast. Jim and Harold rooting for their white hype and Roy trying to be objective.

Bruh... All three of them were over the top.

The problem I have with giving Canelo more than 4 rounds is that he outlanded by 60+ punches according to compubox. I'm not saying compubox is the end all be all but it was clear that he was outlanded by a lot.

Like I told my wife, GGG fought like an Olympian.

He landed 8 body shots according to compubox to canelos 50. Canelo landed more power shots so that means all golovkin had was more jabs and they were mostly range finding jabs. Some popped nelos head back but the majority were just to find range with nothing behind them. I still gave him most the middle rounds but when canelo got off he did what he wanted. 7-5 canelo

I feel people on the rewatch score it closer. That 118-110 scorecard did more a disservice to canelo than ggg. Had people with fake outrage when in reality it was a close fight that could of gone either way

He "got off" in spurts. You cant win a championship bout like that, especially against a guy that presses the entire time. You cant get outlanded by 60 punches and win.

And I rewatched it Saturday night and scored it again 116-112 for GGG

Yup,
Roy, Max, and Jim all sounded like some hoe ass fans that night :mjlol: Everybody was over the top as hell.

and of course Roy wouldn't mind Canelo going to the ropes, because he does the same shyt. (not to the same extent tho)

Another Gold Medal
Killed a middleweight, by Billy hoe saunders lmao, he took GGG's best shots like they weren't shyt

news flash, hooks and counter haymakers are power punches, If you land two jabs and I land one hook to the body, I win, that every time on the score cards

GGG only fighter in history who can win just by jabbing but never setting up the bigger punches, he did nothing half of the fight but get countered by canelo

Charlo the only real threat at middleweight, jacobs is trash and has a class jaw

I disagree about Jacobs but im biased no nikka w a glass jaw goes 12 w ggg sorry bruh not happening. N i thought Jacobs beat him. As far as the rest ive said it in countless fights power punches>>> jabs but nikkas only use that logic for nikkas they like. Whem Herrera fought Danny I said the same shyt, when Paulie (who I was stanning at the time) fought AB i said the same shyt but if its a guy the media likes then jabs are a huuuuuuge deal.

Only time you score a jab like that if a guy is controlling the round with it which ggg was NOT.

The jab matters when you outland your opponent by 60 punches. It shows that the other guy was doing little to nothing. You cant fight hard for 50 seconds and run around the ring for the other 2 minutes and 10 seconds.
