Julio Todd, a D1 halfback for his hometown Miami Hurricanes who blew his knee after a monster true freshman year (207 rush, 1,202 yd, 15 TD in 8 games) and gets drafted into Vietnam in 1969. Forgotten by the system upon returning home in 1973, 6'2" 220-pound Julio becomes a pimp, stick-up man and occasional drug dealer to survive.
Upon learning that 1980 welterweight gold medalist Terrell Donovan is his first cousin's son, Julio begins to manage 20-year-old Terrell as he rises to a 33-0 record and a championship belt. Julio embezzles from his cousin, however, to pay off gambling debts of around $3M to various criminal figures. After going separate ways in 1985, Donovan becomes a three-division champion with a record of 57-3-3 before a tragic car crash death at 37 years old, while Julio is nowhere to be found.
...until 1998, the year after when he emerges in a smash hit video for rising rapper Sosa Bonds, putting on for the streets of Indianapolis. Julio discovered Bonds through his 5th baby mama, who he knocked up in her junior year of high school where he was doing security, as Bonds was having a fling with her cousin.
With 1998s Double Platinum Knocked Out The Park, 1999 and 2001s 4x Platinum Live Ball and Juiced, along with a starting role in a 2000 summer blockbuster, Sosa's net worth soars to $40M, and Julio as his manager is eating...until Sosa gets arrested for sexual assault and gun possession on MDW 2002 in Boston. After a four-month trial, Sosa is sentenced to 8-10 years in prison. Julio falls in a lull, but emerges in news again in 2006 with a tax lien of $2.2M.
After filing for bankruptcy, Julio goes on a spiritual journey and writes a Christian-based drama about three sister-cousins born to one woman and two brothers and their cousin rising up against an omnipresent pastor who has preyed on women in their city for 30 years. The 2015 film Sisterhood grosses $600M worldwide, and Julio has emerged once again as a Hollywood writer and frequent guest at Christian seminars. He has also opened two steakhouses and three car dealerships as a silent partner.
Julio, 70, lives in the Greater Atlanta area and has a net worth of approximately $60M. He lives with his longtime girlfriend Shante, 30 years his junior, who helped him discover Sosa Bonds and has birthed 6 of his 13 children.
