If Bronny James was Marvin Harrison Jr. or Shaduer, people would respect it more

I agree. But fukk it. Let's get black nepotism off. We'll be the first to call our own trash if need be. Benefactors of white nepotism conveniently ignore them not doing shyt. At least we know Bronny will be held accountable. The goal should always be merit based accomplishment, tho.
Michael B. Jordan being a mediocre actor isn't nepotism. He earned the right to being a mediocre actor by working his way up the industry with no connects. As far as I am aware, the same is true with Ryan Reynolds.

This is different from Bronny.

Theres a guy in Milwaukee with a brother that proven himself to have no business in the league and is just a way to make Giannis comfortable. The brother is so irrelevant that most people can't even pronounce his name right, but he's still getting a check.

If Bronny was Shaduer or Harrison Jr then he would've been a lottery pick not the last pick in the draft. Bronny was drafted at the right place for his skillset.

Bron is doing things the way he wants, it's setting a new standard for the league (good and bad) that says: If you're a legendary player you have a significant say on who you play with and who's on the staff. Players should be as empowered as their impact on the game.

Football players will never have this capability in their league because they can't organize themselves for anything outside the field other than strip clubs and podcasts

You say this as if it's a bad thing. Players like Tom Brady, Drew Brees, and Peyton Manning have organized themselves. If their sons end up being mid, but get pushed to the league anyway that'd be a joke.

Those kids will have an advantage and get more opportunities, but hopefully not to this extent.

Everyday black people being expected to be happy that some one who was born rich is benefiting from nepotism because they also happen to be black is wild
Separate topic but I would love an analysis on how much of this money is actually trickling down.
There was an analysis done at some point during the Obama administration that showed the gains in black Wealth almost entirely went to the top 1 percent of black people.

I think people are underestimating how playing next to Lebron and for essentially “Lebrons team” will make Bronny a good player

Bron will set up Bronny to get open shots and guide him on every aspect of the nba game

This was the only way Bronny was entering the nba without 2-3 more years of college

By the time Lebron retires I bet Bronny can hold his own and will have a solid career ahead of him

Or maybe he just lets Brice take the baton

Either way the Bronny experiment will work.

It’s a win win.

Don’t let Bron and Bronny win a championship in LA. That’ll be the GOAT moment in sports history :banderas:

you actually think bronny will play consistently :mjlol:

This nikka will get burn in one game for that moment and then be sent down to the gleague

Thanasis is like the laughing stock of the NBA though
Like people make fun of him constantly on social media, there's lowlight reels of him all the time
So if Bronny is aspiring to be that, then that's fine lol but don't get mad when he gets clowned
Thanasis got drafted completely on his own merits btw, Giannis wasn't shyt when the Knicks took Thanasis. Now, it didn't take them long to find out he didn't belong anywhere near an NBA roster, but yeah his brother being an ATG has got him a job going on 5+ years now which is crazy :russ:

I actually don't mind Bronny being drafted I'm just annoyed at people acting like this is something it isn't. Bron wants to be the first player to play with his son, fine, but it's people acting like he's got some great talent annoy the shyt outta me. He hasn't shown anything to be thinking he's an NBA player and people with his physical profile are usually very dominant HS players who have college success just to get a shot at the NBA let alone do anything in the league

Thing is thanasis was drafted on his own merit, you can sit back and laugh but he actually put in work. Bronny just had it handed to him on a silver spoon.

I'm all for black nepotism. And you know what, I'm all for black mediocrity getting chances. A Ryan Reynolds made his name off being mediocre. Why can't Michael B Jordan make bread just being aight? That said, the league will determine if Bronny is trash or if he sees another NBA contract:hubie:
Most black are not in a position to practice nepotism. You’re conflating being held to the same standards, which I agree with - with nepotism. Black people practicing nepotism are usually just helping other well off black people - what does that do for the average person?

You know me. I’m team Bronny. I think he is a good prospect. It might take a year or two but i doubt lebron will let him fail even if he turns out to be trash

Imagine Bronny having a Quinn Cook type role when he gets comfortable

Maybe he gets in the dunk contest to make up for Bron never doing it :blessed:

It’ll be exciting to see what Bronny does next season

Just Win Baby
This.

There's cats hemming and hawing about the 55th pick in what was supposed to be a horrible draft talent wise.

I don't think anyone on this board could name another player they could've drafted at that spot to improve the team. Let Bron have his father/son moment. Bronny had a heart attack a year ago. Even if it's just a roster spot for one season it ain't killing nobody. Cats just hate Bron enough to pretend like a late 2nd round pick actually matters.

His college teammate Boogie could have given us a guard that could initiate some offense and create his own shot

If he was a top prospect then there is no way he gets to the Lakers, let alone to the 2nd rd. That actually woulda been interesting. Does he go to an ATL or WAS if Bronny is a top prospect? Then again thats probably why he changed his tune a couple years ago. Bronny not being a top player is actually what made this possible.

Nepotism is bad. I don't think that's a bold statement. I personally don't give a fukk about black people doing it, because as with most advantageous things we haven't had an opportunity to benefit from it for the longest. On top of that, I know our community polices itself on quality far more stringently than others anyway. That was the Ryan Reynolds part. Replace him with Chris Hemsworth, another mediocre actor who did get put on because of family ties. I clearly didn't state MBJ or RR got put on because of nepotism btw, I was talking about the perception each has in their respective communities while being mediocre.
