It drives everyone to the brink of madness (if not over it) and creates a huge powder keg that can explode at the drop of a hat. It gets to the point where "reasonable" followers of the same religion are seen as just as bad as the "enemy" because they arent as fanatic about it.
Ive never been more proud to not give a fukk about hebrew school and protest having my bar mitzvah until i was absolutely forced. my friend and i would play basketball in the fukkin classroom while everyone else was trying to study cuz we were like fukk this. then, by the time i actually had it...i did the bare minimum, refused to keep going to my tutor and told none of my friends to show at the service because i told them i genuinely didnt care about it. i also went and hung out at the bar with my half brother when i was supposed to be doing all the traditional dances and shyt. im black sheep status now in that side of the family but i dont give a fukk. all they talk about is religion and memories and ask why "im such a stranger"..but make no effort to have a substantive conversation about anything...god forbid if i voice a legitimate concern or debate on what some of them say. its strange too because one of my older family members was a US army medic and ended up marrying an iraqi (who was also in the army i think, but they met in iraq).. and they "love" her and shyt but i dont buy it. they just love her because theyre happy the dude finally found "love". get the fukk out of here. and the sad thing is, they really arent even all that fanatical, especially in comparison to most people actually in israel, but their bias knows no end so i can only imagine how the real extremists are.
so for the dude that negged me a while back saying IDF DETECTION... alright man..not to mention..one of my best friends from school is a palestinian israeli citizen and my neighbors and best friends from back in the day are pakistani muslims...i was with them on 9/11 throughout the whole day and felt terrible for what they would have to go through because of all the fukking morons out there. and this was after one of their cousins who was like 5 years older than me and much bigger than me at the time roughed me up and got in my face because of "what my people were doing to his people". that didnt change my opinion on the rest of the family, muslims or even him specifically. he was upset and rightfully so, even though i was like 11 and had no role in anything whatsoever.

Might be good to cop a book or two about the crisis so you can get a better idea of why they're doing this. This isn't about tunnels or rockets, its about the Palestinians forming a unity government and the Israelis are pissed about it cuz that means they actually have to negotiate a two state solution which they don't want.

HAMAS can't be doing shyt like kidnapping/capturing soldiers and expect to be taken seriously. They just can't Because more powerful entities will use that against you because neither side is truly expected to use restraint. This is war, not a gentleman's quarrel.
Smaller and less powerful people have to be more skillful and tactful in their inevitable surrender to the demands of the clearly more powerful entity.
This isn't some war of attrition you're trying to make it out to be.
I feel for Palestine as i've never supported any sort of zionist position (i'm a fukking atheist and could not care less about anyone's claims to that land) but I support a two-state solution thats enforced by the international community.
Israel is in a weird place because we all acknowledge they face threats on an existential basis on a daily basis, but attempts by them to make land grabs and streamline their borders make it hard to support their autonomy in times of peace.
This isn't as cut and dry as you want to make it seem to be.

I think Israel is definitely wilding out, but there are a few things HAMAS isn't doing to help the situation so lets address some things.
1. HAMAS does not represent Palestine's government. Lets get that straight.
2. Don't bring up the self defense argument. People fight. They just do. And when you're losing, you can't keep using this argument. The bigger and (I don't want to say "better") more equipped side doesn't just use the mercy rule because you can't fight back as well as you thought you could. Rockets not being as effective on israeli targets doesn't mean you still ain't fire them.
3. This IS oppression and I never said I supported it, but HAMAS isn't some benevolent agent in all of this. Theres HAMAS, the palestinan government, and other rogue factions in the region all at work here. Don't tie me to these religious c00ns who have beef with jews or muslim virgins debating about jewsh legitimacy. None of that weighs in my views.
1. Its well known that you don't believe anything in the mainstream so I can't take you seriously.
2. You're religious, so you have some other existential dog in this fight and so I don't take you seriously.
3. You nor I know who broke rank, but when you take members of the clearly more dominant side hostage, its not going to help your demands at the deal table.
Israel can't be doing shyt like continuing operations during a fukkin ceasefire and expect to be taken seriously, your point? You think the Viet Cong gave a fukk about the things you're spouting off about? This is an armed struggle, an anti colonial effort, after begrudgingly falling back all of these times do you honestly think that they got it on their minds to do it now when so much is at stake?
Israel is in a fukked up position, if they use their full capacity and annihilate these people their goodwill is finished but the longer this goes the more people realize the Gazans are the victims and Hamas is merely a symptom of a greater sickness. If it isn't Hamas then it would still be an issue, these people don't want to surrender anymore it's a war.
A two state solution is impossible if neither side wants that to begin with. To me that's all rhetoric to prevent all out conflict. Zionism and Palestinian Nationalism can't reconcile those differences imo, Palestinians want Palestine back deep down and Zionists want to complete their quest to create Greater Israel. All this two state talk is bullshyt as far as I'm concerned. Only one neutral state using neither names or flags, administered by the UN until enough generations pass and more competent, united, non extremist leadership can be put in place can permanently fix this situation.
So yes it isn't cut and dry, I don't know what made you assume that I thought that.
