During the entire almost 2 month battle of Fallujah America lost 95 :soldiers... Israel is on pace at this rate to lose that number in a week

Fallujah was almost completely evacuated and rule of engagements were to shoot anyone in the city on sight. There was constant shelling. Even then, I agree that the casualties were very low, much lower than what's going on for sure.

Hamas did the only thing they could, it's a genius military tactic. You let the ground assault come in, use the terrain, use the chaotic civilian conditions and defend the Avenues of approach. It only works though if the assaulting force fears any more losses.

The most important tactical victory for them is the captured soldier. Right now Israel controls most of the strip, has killed about 500 people and can shell the entire strip if they wish. That soldier might be the only bargaining tool they hold to keep the people from being decimated.

The thing is though, at least to me, this recent situation seems different. The Israeli rhetoric and population appear much different this time around. I think a lot of it has to do with the overall situation in the region. The entire region is fractured on sectarian lines, Iran-Saudi power struggle over Syria, uprisings everywhere, you have the ISIS now making major pushes, the Egyptian Military dictatorship seems like its job is keeping their country in line, Libya is in a power struggle between militias, and the United States and Iran have begun the first meaningful diplomacy in decades.

They control the strip aside from this event, it's essentially an open-air prison. Those people don't have anywhere else to go. Last I read they were driving tanks in there, bulldozing buildings, blowing up tunnels, as long as full on indirect fire. It appears they have control of significant terrain I should have said.

Yeah I caught that earlier, I dunno, even if they are pissed is America or anyone of influence going to do anything worthwhile? Kerry is prolly just at wits end seeing as how he was tryna forge peace between the sides not that long ago. I think it was staged too, for one what are the odds he'd get caught like that and for two if by coincidence that shyt happened we prolly wouldn't of seen it because we're not suppose to see these things.

I dunno, maybe Fattah wants to keep the peace. Perhaps their conditions aren't nearly as deplorable as Gaza. But honestly it's a great question, I always wondered why they never formed some crude military pincers from Gaza/WB and choke off the IDF.

He will be taken to a safe location where only 1-3 trusted people will know where he at, he will be interrogated see what kind of information they can gain from him. At that point he will be used as a negotiation tool.

I also wouldn't be surprised if a couple of well taken pics and a video of him come out in the next few days

Isreal has been killing Palestinians before Hamas even existed, Hamas as democratically voted in. Isreal could technically do that but it would cause the biggest humanitarian catastrophe in modern history and if they did that the gloves would really be off no jew would be safe anywhere
