I understand the cause of celebration from your viewpoint. Seems anything to grasp at something good. But every military on the planet would take 14 losses in a urban assault of this caliber and under those circumstances. It's the very nature of defensive tactics and MOUT: the offense is always at a disadvantage regardless of military discrepancy. On the other hand, those on defense are at a disadvantage when it comes to indirect fire, strikes, and from siege tactics (i.e., cutting off full supplies and starving them to death).

In this day and age though the PR war matters, and a capture IDF soldier is a valuable bargaining tool.

I understand your speaking from a military background, but your underestimating the dire situation my people are in. They are in no way shape or form ready for a war against a top military.
