Bagley worse case scenario is a disciplined josh smith imo. Best case super athletic bosh.

Only thing okafor and him got in common is they went to duke
The hardest thing about Bagley is there is no prototype before him. He does a lot no one has done before just due to lacking the talent base.

Anyone mentioning Okafor, your Basketball opinion card has been revoked

I’m going Bamba brehs.

1. This will probably be the highest we pick during this rebuild so we might as well swing for the fences. Bagley could be a perineal all-star, but Bamba could change the game altogether.

2. I think Bagley will only impact the game as much as his stats say he does. Not saying they’ll be empty, but I don’t see him drawing so much attention he gets teammates open shots consistently, making hockey assists, affecting shots regularly, etc. Meanwhile, Bamba will effect every shot a team takes simply by being on the court, which takes me to....

3. Coach Pierce is already on record saying defense will be this team’s calling card. Bagley should be at the least an adequate defender, but Bamba could be a generational defensive talent.

4. Breh who said Bagley and Collins would be redundant was right. I definitely think they could play together, but both would benefit from not being the biggest big man on the court. Collins reminds me of Horford in that he shouldn’t be a center, no matter how good he plays the position. Collins and Bamba could provide the defense, rebounding, and rim protection that we would need to contend for a title. They could both average 15 a piece just off rim runs/oops/putbacks too. We would still need consistent perimeter scoring, but that’s what the wings are for.

5. The only PFs who have been the #1 option on a team that got to the finals in the last 30 years are Barkley, Malone, Duncan, and Dirk, with Kemp, Rasheed Wallace, KG, and Gasol being the only #2s off the top of my head. If I’m missing somebody, let me know. The NBA is evolving but building around a 4 has not shown to result in championships historically and I’m not sold on Bagley being the one to break that trend.

I’m good with Bagley or even Porter at 3, but I’m goin with the nikka with 8 foot arms
There hasn't been that many players that have lead their team to titles.

Yeah, but you can still see the history by position over the last 30 years

PG: Magic. IT, Curry, Billups(kinda)
SG: MJ, Kobe, Wade
SF: Bron, KD(kinda), Kwahi(kinda), Bird
PF: Duncan, Dirk, KG(kinda)
C: Shaq, Hakeem

Big men in general aren’t taking their teams to titles. I don’t think Bamba would “take” us there either. Difference is, he wouldn’t have to. He would be a potential “elite role player” offensively and defensive anchor and I think that would make us better than a great(not elite IMO) scorer who is solid but not standout in any other category.

Who in the 2020 class?
Is Shaq son in that class?

Shaq son didn't make the cut for the Micky D's game. He's a top 50 recruit but he ain't elite. The NBA will get rid of the one and done soon, if not by 2019, most definitely 2020.

So all the top high school kids will jump in along with all the top college freshmen, top college guys, and also the international prospects. It would be smart to get all the 1st round picks you can for that draft.

They get rid of the one and done but they're prolly make it to where the ones who go to college have to play for at least 2 years

They better not pick trae young :francis:

Maybe if we already had a franchise player on the squad, then sure, but That is not the case

id rather have Trae than Doncic :scust:

It'll be interesting to see if Trae can do all that Curry shyt once he gets in the league, but I remember Colin Sexton ending his chapter in one night

Trae over doncic? Y'all not giving luka a fair shake. Dude won euroleague mvp yesterday. :heh:

The whole lack of athleticism thing is overblown. In todays nba, everybody on the court has to be able to dribble, pass, and shoot with high iq. Dude has a high floor

Doncic wins Euroleague title; NBA decision 'soon'

Doncic's next destination was a focal point on many a conversation over the course of the weekend. It still remains to be seen which NBA team will draft him. The growing consensus among NBA decision-makers in attendance at Stark Arena in Belgrade is that the teams drafting behind the Phoenix Suns at No. 1, the Sacramento Kings and Atlanta Hawks are likely to pass on European prodigy in favor of American frontcourt players. The question remains whether a team will trade up into the top three to snag Doncic, or if he will fall to the No. 4 (Memphis) or even the No. 5 pick (Dallas) after being heavily scouted in the Euroleague playoffs against Panathinaikos and mostly struggling.
