Yep, I'm backpedaling :manny:

I told my father this two days ago. Listen, I was on my way to be on the HS football team in the 9th grade :manny: I was fat then, but that could have turned into muscle. So, every Monday and Wednesday we had weight training :jawalrus: It was good, but I soon realized this wasn't for me. Especially, when I read about the risk of concussions :snoop: However, I did try out in 12th grade for the Wrestling team, but never got a reply back. Only thing I regret was not trying out for basketball

Anyway, I just would NOT let my son or daughter play football. Because I don't always want to take them to the doctor to get check out. Still, my kids will play sports. Maybe something like Lacrosse, Rugby, Soccer, Baseball, Hockey, and Basketball:obama: I'm going to have atleast 8 kids.

TBH, I just don't want to see my kids with memory loss. Listen, I could have EXCELLED in Football. Hell, my cousin who was the HS football captain went to Richmond to play football at a great college :manny:

That money :ahh:

Trips me out to hear dudes say this.

The reality is most of you wont have to worry about your sons playing any longer than ms. After that it becomes about toughness on a certain level and alotta these kids nowadays are just too soft and have been raised by soft parents.

Other sports you can just play until your skill level is maxed out. Football begins with the courage and toughness. Skills come next

Does the concussions make them tough? Because there's a lot of injury prone reports with Football.

Concussions are just a part of it and not all that big a part at that. No concussions don't make you tough anymore than any other injury. But your ability to deal with a certain amount of pain goes into it.

Football at its core is about physical contact and that's not gonna change. Who can deal with the physical aspect is what determines how long a young man plays.

Wrestling is fake so I doubt that.........Football is a multiBILLION dollar a year sport. Its not going anywhere. Nobody makes these players play....they do it for the love of the sport. How can you get rid of it? That's like stopping people from smoking because it causes cancer. You can recommend it, but you can't outright make people not do it.

:dahell: Where were you when the Chris Benoit murder-suicide dominated the news?

Pro wrestling has been in the forefront of CTE discussion along with football, ever since Benoit killed his family

That tragedy should have shown even the most clueless people that although professional wrestling is scripted and predetermined, some of the moves/bumps the wrestlers do in the ring actually wear down the body and can even affect the brain. Yeah, they barely touch each other when doing fake punches/kicks, and the submission holds are done in a way where they barely feel any discomfort. But you can't "lighten up" a bodyslam or a splash from the top rope

Benoit used to regularly do this retarded move called the diving headbutt, where he'd climb the top turnbuckle and jump facing down so his face could land on the opponent's chest/head :snoop:.....you can't soften that blow no matter how much you try to "fake" it. And imagine doing that move in literally hundreds of matches a year for several years, in some cases even decades......

There's a reason why WWE banned chair shots to the head after that tragedy. And the thing is, they STILL allow their wrestlers to do certain dangerous-ass moves that affect the head and can injure wrestlers for real when done wrong, like suicide dives out of the ring and running powerbombs (damn you Seth Rollins :damn: )

As for football......maybe it's not going anywhere, but that doesn't mean there won't be any significant changes on how the game is played.....

I played football growing up but with what we are learning about these brain injuries, I wouldn't let my kids play either.

Let's kids be kids breh. Taking a few knocks, breaking some bones, and skipping class to get some ass is all apart of the experience.
