Dap, the Colonel Sanders was funnyI don't care enough to debate. Your opinion is your opinion, but most would tell you you're wrong Colonel Sanders

I liked the prequels. I'm not a Stan though. Except Phantom Menace, that shyt was boring. Jar Jar wasn't a breh cause of voice.
I critique them but they weren't horrible movies. I haven't watched the new shyt, guess it's supposed to be worse. Only watched a couple videos.
I hated the pre trilogy cause it said fukk continuity and tried to 1 up the OG in every way. All of Sidious apprentices were bossed up as fukk. Maul was a beast fighter and Dooku had force lightning while Vader had astma. fukkin R2-D2 could fly n shyt. U know how helpful that wouldve fukking been for luke?!?!?
Yoda all acrobatic flipping around n shyt but walking with a cane.I remember the whole theater was like WTF

I remember when I saw this part, whole theater was likewhen he dropped the cane & started flippin around, then came
he a beast... then when he picked up the cane after the fight & started limpin again
... everybody was like WTF...
The acting was horrible in Revenge of the Sith. Natalie Portman was at least trying in the previous two films, in ROTS she just phoned in. Hayden was horrible , I simply couldn't buy that this guy was conflicted by the dark side.Well this just makes no sense at all. The romance plot gets less time than in clones, jar jar almost isn’t in the movie at all, the ending multiplication effect is down to just two settings, the bad guy’s motivation is clear in this movie, while it’s never even established in the other two, and there’s no kid actors in that one. It’s script is clearly the most rushed though. They didn’t get it right, but they didn’t get it as wrong as the other two.

I guess George Lucas said fukk it and went overkill on the lightsaber fights. It takes the mystique out of what the lightsaber fights special in the OG movies.
Visually The Phantom menace looks better than Revenge of the Sith, practical sets and effects >>>>> badly aged CGI
I thought Anakin's downfall was supposed to be tragic and sad, but the combination of bad acting and bad writing I didn't feel anything towards the character.
For phantom menace, all it says is there’s a dispute over taxes. No explanation for what the bad guys are hoping to get by blockading a planet or invading it. We mostly understand what palpatine is doing because we all saw the original trilogy. The prequels never do anything to indicate that he’s sidious. It was though, whether it was exciting for SW movies is another thing:
Episode I:
- Trade Federation wants to boycott new taxation laws (explained in opening scrawl and those lovely roundtable/Senate debates)
- Phantom Menace is both Darth Sidious and Darth Maul plotting to destroy the Jedi and Palpatine becoming Chancellor
Episode II:
- Dooku and his gang want to break from the Republic because of it's bureacracy/corruption (again in the opening scrawl)
- Dooku as a political idealist who thought the Jedi shouldn't serve a corrupt Senate
- Phantom Menace is Palpatine and Dooku playing both sides, Dooku having become a Sith Lord himself (plot twist end of the movie)
- Jango just wanted to get paid

For clones, they’d still need more than a line or two in the opening crawl. Half the time the audience doesn’t even notice everything in those. Dooku is taking about ridding the senate of corruption and destroying the Sith while starting a war and all that stuff, same as the systems breaking from the senate never being explored in the movie beyond the opening crawl. That’s overly convoluted and confusing. Jango being about his money was always clear. I don’t think anyone was confused about that. He says straight up that he was paid to do a job.
That conflicts with the OG trilogy, where Anakin is this good guy whose fall to the dark side was a tragedy. That's the thing though. It wasn't tragic or sad, and he wasn't conflicted by the dark side. He just wanted what he felt he deserved (justifiably), and the only person that wasn't as much of a hypocrite, or at least not blatantly, was his friend Palpatine. He was a superstar AAU kid, with his booster oldhead stroking his ego, and all of the coaches telling he got to sit on the bench, but then using him for every part of the game when they are down. They all know he's going to the league, and they're ignoring most of the rules when it suits them. Of course that's how he would act.
But I do agree that the practical effects of Phantom Menace looks better than the extra gloss of Sith.
You make a great case why TPM and AOTC are better movies without realizing itThey want to stop being taxed, it's about money for them. They're a greedy corporation, add that they're being told by Sidious that they can get away with it and I'm not sure what more you want from them. They also have discussions amongst themselves that they're not sure whether Sidious is for real, but they're too scared to back out.
Palpatine being Sidious is hinted at, when he walks with Maul it's literally outside the office he later meets Padme. And when Mace wonders whether Maul was the Sith Lord the camera pans to Palpatine.
The literal reveal of him being Sidious is supposed to be a surprise but it's clear they both have an agenda:
- Sidious uses the TF to fukk up Naboo, forcing Padme to enter a vote of no confidence in Valorum which literally paves the way for Palpatine.
- Sidious also wants to destroy the Jedi.
I mean, If people don't pay attention to a block of text introducing the movie then I really can't blame George Lucas for that breh
With Clones the genius move, IMO, is that it's supposed to be chaotic - the end reveal of Dooku meeting Sidious means that it was all a sham to start a war. The fight between the droids/clones happening in dusty sandstorm symbolizes that it's unclear who is really fighting who and the Jedi literally get lost in the midst.
This was intentional and when Dooku meets Sidious and gets called "Darth Tyranus" we know that Dooku was the one who contacted Jango ("Syfo-Dias? I was approached by a man named Tyranus") and is playing both sides.
Political idealism was the set-up, Sith scheming is the pay-off.
With Clones I fully get that it's confusing and not everybody's thing, but it's all in the movie and I loved that shyt because they're so different from the OGs where it's bad guys chase good guys![]()

Is there a graphic novel version of this?
That conflicts with the OG trilogy, where Anakin is this good guy whose fall to the dark side was a tragedy.
This is a common misconception. The ONLY person who refers to Anakin qs a good guy is Obi-Wan, and he doesn't even say this he says Anakin was "a great pilot, a cunning warrior and a good friend".
Here's literally all the other quotes about Anakin:
Owen and Beru:
"He's too much like his father"
"Yes, that's what I'm afraid of"
Owen and Beru only saw Anakin show up to retrieve his mother, he was prettyat all of them for having let the Tuskens kidnap her and especially for not going after her anymore. Then he steals 3PO
. The ONLY reason they look after Luke is out of love for Shmi, I'm guessing.
Yoda:
"Vader...powerful Jedi was he"
"Consume it, the darkside will you. Like it did Obi-Wans apprentice"
"Your father he is, told you did he"
Again, almost has awhen talking about Anakin and changes the subject when Luke brings him up. "War not make one great".
Palpatine:
"You, like your father, are now mine. Surely you must know he can never be turned"
shyt even Tarkin, "You are all that's left of that religion".
Except for Obi-Wan nobody has a high opinion of Anakin in the OGs. Most people areat him and especially
at Luke when he talks about wanting to be like him or try and save him.
