They don’t need a 2.44 and 2.88 ERA to be good enough like they had in 2022. You could add half a run to each of those and they’d have spectacular numbers still. I expect Nestor to be in the mid to high 3’s which is fine. Rodon lost the heat on his fastball and only really threw 2 pitches last year so I think that there’s a real possibility he puts up close to his numbers with the giants, but I don’t expect him to match them all the way playing in that stadium. He was also never healthy at any point last year and it was obvious to basically everyone who watched him. I’ll be shocked if he isn’t healthy by this spring.
Two over 3.2x era pitchers isn’t enough to topple us or even the Rangers if/when they get their half season of DeGrom back though. Yanks have a couple more holes to fill. You don’t necessarily know what Martian is going to give you, the sophomore slump is very real (see Jeremy Peña).
I will say though, Soto is the right move for right now, but unless Showtime is walking into the locker room, there’s def more needs if your team wants to come run with us :myman:

That’s why I say get Bellinger. .300+ average with men on & with men in scoring position, a .279 average with 2 strikes in the count, and a lot of doubles on top of only 80 strikeouts & only 7 double plays hit into in 130 games last year.

He would def put your team back in title contention, but where would he fit defensively? You already have a logjam in the outfield, and you have a $45million problem occupying 1b already. Stanton is your default DH…….

Luckily whenever he comes back next year will be his rookie year.

Teams have a good 2 months of film on him between the show and AAA, don’t be so certain. I wouldn’t be surprised if Elly De La Cruz also took a step back once pitchers get his tendencies and adjust as well.

I hate to say it but....

Elly's rookie year was kinda rough. He was just incredibly fun to watch. The skills Dominguez has are very sustainable. The leadoff spot is theirs for him to have since Volpe doesn't project to be a high OBP guy. Jasson just has to be healthy, but he showed in a small sample size that protecting Judge was not a problem. Now hitting in front of Soto/Judge? He's gonna mash.

Centerfield for most of the year since the Martian isn’t gonna be available anyway and figure out the rest at a later date. He can play first base and Rizzo is in the last year of his deal at I think $22 million, is 35 years old, has back problems, and is coming off a concussion that essentially cost him the last 90-100 games of the season. I doubt he’s gonna be on the team come 2025 so they’ll need help there.

I'm in the minority on this but I'm not moved by the acquisition of Juan Soto.

So many big name acquisitions have fizzled out. I have no faith in the Yankees as a team and organization. Until a Yankees team can make it to the World Series again, then I don't care.

Sorry not sorry :hubie:
